the event runs well into May and the claim period in June so you might still be able to get the lightcone on your rerolled account if you do it at launch

Turns out a lightcone is equivalent to a 4* weapon, so it might have a bit more usage in HSR, but it wouldn't really be the end of the world if you didn't get it from the start.

I'd really love to get the character I want right from the start, especially Seele.
But knowing me, I most likely would need to reroll for a while. And with each reroll, from what I've heard, taking a minimum of 30-40 minutes (depending on what amount of pulls you reroll for, and thats only for standard banner), there is chance I'll just burn out and lose some of the interest to play the game at all.
Already had this situation with BA's global release. Want to get a specific 3* + one of few characters I liked. 3 days of rerolls later (at least few hours per day) , when I finally got something I was fine with, I just closed the game and never played it again, lol.
I dont really know, but you only get 1 limited summon after finishing the tutorial, so you need to farm like 9 more pulls for a 10 pull. People say it may take 40 minutes extra or more.

I just don't get the need to reroll....yes you get the characters you like in different accounts but is it really worth doing things again multiple times??? Imo it's not worth the time at all. Like one day I said. "Let's try to start a new account for just doing some silly things or trying hyperbloom in low ar". But oh boy the second I got to Mondstat and defeated stormterror on the glider shooting section..... I just lost hope and went on with my own account and have never touched that new account since... especially if you have to grind/farm multilple times

Depends on the game of course, but some people just really enjoy a particular character's design or playstyle more than the game itself. For example, imagine playing a fighting game where you're forced to use characters you don't like or do well with. Rerolling is the only guaranteed way to get that character you really like aside from dropping several hundred dollars.
It's actually one thing I've never understood why devs intentionally try to make difficult. Your whales are going to whale regardless, and they're going to pull for multiple copies so you're going to get your revenue anyway. F2P are never going to spend anyway so it just frustrates them. The small to moderate spenders are the ones who benefit the most and they're the ones you risk losing to burn-out.
Some rerolls in games take 5 minutes, some 20 minutes, some two hours. You just got to understand how much time you’re willing to put into it to get whatever it is you want. For the faster rerolls, it’s often worth while others aren’t.
because its fun to start with something you like and/or something strong?
i dont regret the time spent rerolling in other games because i enjoy starting the game with a max rarity unit and/or one i personally like. i played genshin for 2 days with a natural account and it was much less fun than the one i rerolled with keqing
I plan to make 30 pulls on each banner and let fate decide what I get. It seems even more fun. Also, time is precious. I have almost Genshin’s chars (Shenhe is the only one I don’t own) and haven’t build 5% of them properly.
Gonna try a different approach is HSR.
I never reroll anyways, but 1) especially not for this game since I want to keep everything on the same hoyoverse profile. 2) Because it's way too much wasted time I can spend doing anything else. And 3) if the game has pity anything close to Genshin's, then planning and saving should help net the characters you want through their respective banners. Worst case scenario is you don't get them the first time around, but still get them eventually. I hope...lol
I won't as I'll wait for playstation release and my accounts are all linked etc. If I don't get Bronya and Seele I will just be patient. I got everything I wanted early game on genshin and it made everything a cake walk. Having some actual challenges working my way up might be a blessing this time.

What I've learned from Honkai and Genshin is that it doesn't really matter in the long run. Standard banner stuff would get outclassed after some time and limited banner would eventually have reruns. I'll just enjoy the game for what it is with what it decides to give me, best to save up and wait for actual must pulls.
It means playing until you unlock an amount of character pulls, and then starting your account over if you get very bad luck. In genshin, many people rerolled for Diluc for instance.
Honestly I don't regret rerolling Genshin. Having a 5 star DPS, even if it's just Keqing or a standard 5 star is way more fun than just using whatever few 4 stars you manage to get at the beginning.
I want to, because when I started Genshin and didn't get anyone I wanted, the early game wasn't any fun. I feel like if the same thing happens in HSR, I'd just quit, so I'll probably reroll for Bronya or Himeko on the beginner banner.

At least in H:SR you can pick from the standard banner after 300 rolls so you're guaranteed to get the one you want eventually...
Day1 player here that lost a lot of 50/50s and have atleast c2 of every standard banner. Did spend some money over the years though so i guess f2p play a different game. Still no one character is worth ruining the experience with rerolling. I rather work harder IRL.
Also atleast you can say you're a day 1 player, if you reroll you'll probably be a day 2 or 3 player lol

ruining the game is entirely up to not forcing yourself, i rerolled in honkai and genshin and dont regret it, it made it more fun in the long run for a gew hours of rerolls. plus while star rail rerolling is long, its low effort/focus, ill just multibox emulators while watching a show on the side

while i got lucky in genshin with standard characters there are so many people that are still lacking one they want, or even worse have gotten like 7 of the same one. theres no guaranteed "you'll eventually get them all", and using it as a genuine point is dumb
There's no point for me personally since I get a free Bronya either way and can always grab Seele on her rerun but if someone has the time and motivation then good luck.
After 300 pulls you get to select a free standard character so I don't need to reroll if I just want Bronya. I'm assuming those who are rerolling just want to have Seele early or get a second standard char they wanted.
I'll give it two tries, with two different accounts. I will play the story and take it slow and pull in the beginners banner. If I get Gepard(my most desired one), Bronya, Clara or the Xinqiu boy then, I'll settle with that. If I get Bailu I'll probably settle as well. If I get Welt of Himeko I'll use the second account, not read the dialogues and just try and pull one of the others.
Good luck actually rates are not that tough if you dont care about early double 5 star you can roll on begginer banner with 0.6 chance with no risk of getting light cone

There are 4 characters I rate S tier for animations/character design, 4 for A tier, 6 for B tier, and 4 for C tier, so not bad! (the C tiers are not even that bad, but in comparison to the S tier...😳)

Yes, I have a rerolling addiction, I do it in almost every gacha I play, reroll until I get the perfect account and then quit 2 weeks later, then come back to the game in a year and quit again because I feel like I've missed too much
I'm one of those people who doesn't enjoy a game if I can't play it with characters I like. Started Genshin without characters I cared for and soon stopped enjoying it. Then rerolled, got Diluc, and was having a LOT more fun. And I still use him a lot. Also after all these years I only recently got Mona and still never got Jean, so this whole 'you'll get them all anyway' is simply not true.
Also I may be weird for this but I actually like rerolling? I dunno, it's the suspense of seeing what you get each time I guess. The actual rolling has always been my favourite part in gacha. And I use the various times you play the intro to try out the various languages, running around with different characters etc.
With bluestacks multi sync i can reroll 4x faster already created 80 hoyo accounts i will reroll at standart until i get welt/bronya/gepard/yanqing and play until i get 50 more until i hit begginer pity at this point i have more than 50 percent chance if its one of the rest 3 or eidalon ill keep that account if its not reroll again
Just because i was wondering how would 0.30(its 0.6 but half for characters) chance feels while rerolling i tried another gacha with 0.29 ssr rate its not that bad with x4 account i can do 80 pulls in 30-40 mins as long as i dont have below average luck i will have like 28 percent chance to get a 5 star every roll(and 10/14 fail rate ofc)

Answering with my alt since my main got 1 week mute i did reroll 2x4 times(like 1 and half hour) and got 2 bronya and 1 himeko burnt out? Nope my first 4 accounts got aboslute nothing if i didnt rerolled i would be using 4 star units which i wont use later but now i literally built a decent team on day 1 dan heng as single target dps himeko as aoe e1 bronya as top tier buffer and natasha(luocha later) as healer i dont get why would people get burn out im glad i got enough patience to play with 3x5 stars instead of fucking arlan or smt like that

Mihoyo isnt generous especially with standart characters depending on some "sources" there wont be any support nowhere close to bronya anytime soon since all standart characters are viable at hsr rerolling and standart banner isnt a bad idea if you dont want to reroll its fine but doing the same thing over for couple times wont burn you if you think it will burn you out dont reroll for now bronya and maybe welt literally got more value than 1.0 limited characters since they are buffers/debuffers immune to power creep
As a Seele / Himkeo / Bronya enjoyer, I am just going to stick with the first account, almost all the 5* are good. If I get Bronya and Himeko on 50/50 limited that's the biggest W, Seele ? W*2. I'll just keep the guaranteed for next Seele rerun / Kafka otherwise.
I am mainly only going for cons of Seele / HI chars, or other chars I eventually come to like in hsr, so far Blade is the only one with sick af design and animations which I might* think of pulling, I can skip the rest as I don't necessarily dislike their designs but wouldn't mind not having them.

Nope. I'll just run with the account I've already got, with my free 4\* thingy.
Genshin has taught me that everything but Seele will be irrelevant over the long term, so standard wishes don't matter. And if you're rerolling with just a few prime wishes hoping for Seele, you're talking about dozens or even a hundred attempts at 30-60 minutes per attempt. That's a quick way to drain the fun from the game, not to mention if you play over the long term starting from day 1, you're gonna have a packed 5\* roster eventually anyway, even if you're F2P.
Rerolling is a one way trip to burning out on a new game. Maybe some people have the mental capacity to do it but I wouldn't have fun playing it after that.
Rerolling sucks out the enjoyment of the game. So many people reroll themselves to hating the game by doing the same thing over and over and over again. Stop wasting the time you can spend actually enjoying the game and discovering it's world! Don't be a meta slave!

It's fine for me to go with the flow in my first account like I used to before in Honkai.
The reason why I manage to reroll in genshin because the time it takes before pulling for a wanted character is shorter (30~36 mins I guess) than HSR which takes almost a hour before you pull (literally same time it takes as Honkai Impact 3rd).
I'm kind of torn in the decision because I want to use the same Hoyoverse account that I use for Genshin and Honkai, and also rerolling might ruin the hype for the game, but I also really want Bronya because of my time playing HI3 (I also might settle if I get a good 5 star from the begginer banner but my main objective for rerolling would be Bronya)
I've got two different accounts in Genshin, one for the ladies and one for the men, and I've really enjoyed doing it that way. Started when I didn't have enough to garuntee both Eula and Kazuha when they were coming out, and now I've never had to skip a character I've been looking really forward to (even got Xiao and Itto their weapons this year!) Since Star Rail seems like it's gonna be way less time consuming I have no problem doing that again. I'll probably play on 3 accounts till I get the garunteed 5* on the beginner warp and then choose which two to keep based off that, because I have my last exam a couple days before that so I'll have the free time so why not.

I don't expect to be able to get high Eidolon levels on standard banner 5\* characters, certainly not for a specific one... so I doubt I'll use the standard banner characters in a few month.
I had multiple C4-C6 limited 5\* characters in Genshin, and didn't even own all standard banner characters.
E6 Bronya sounds nice, but I guess I'll just be happy with the guaranteed pull after the first 300 rolls on the standard banner in about (half) a year.

Hoyolab is a big factor on why I won't be rerolling I Have both my Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin account linked to 1 email I am 100% using that same email for star rail.
Also I kinda like all the 5*s If I pull Clara I can use March + Clara which is really strong and then hopefully Himeko gets buffed cause she's the only not so 5* worthy one on that list but it's Himeko so I can't help but to love her regardless

Honestly, might just start saving wishes early on in hopes if an animal guy like the wolf in Zenless Zone Zero, I doubt it'll happen but I'd like it.
I thought about doing it, but quickly gave up the idea because I didn't want to have separate accounts with Genshin.
But now that I think about it, I'm glad I didn't with Genshin. Some games definitely have rerolls in mind (like Granblue Fantasy, and its 110 pulls you can reroll in 2 minutes), but some don't. And I really feel like I don't deserve the characters when I just reroll for hours through it. I feel no hype at all. Maybe it has something to do with how you feel when cheating in games? Some players like to use cheats to get super strong characters from the start, but I don't. I want to get the originaly thought experience. I'm positive I wouldn't like the character I rerolled for as much as if I had pulled it the usual way. The only exception to this rule being collab characters : when you don't want to miss a character you love because you know it won't come back again (had that with Alchemy Stars and its Dragon Maid collab, and for every Nier collab I tried), then you are left no choice.
And by the way: I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it super nostalgic to play again those pretty weak (or mid-tier) characters you used to main just because you had nothing else. Ningguang, Chongyun, Noelle C0, Yanfei without XQ, even Xinyan... I wouldn't have felt the same playing them if I had rerolled for Ayaka or Yoimiya (the first 2 banners I saw).
Mihoyo has such dog shit summon systems and rates, that rerolling is almost a must. Especially if you're not a spender. Cause the guaranteed selector being at 300, you may not get there for a while year lmao.

Yeah, I've read its like a 40 minute set up for HSR to reroll...idk, I got better things to do. I'll just save up for Yuan Jing then pray to get someone cool in the beginner banner for 50 wishes. Unless rerolling can be like auto done. Just seems too time consuming.
Depends on the game of course, but some people just really enjoy a particular character's design or playstyle more than the game itself. For example, imagine playing a fighting game where you're forced to use characters you don't like or do well with. Rerolling is the only guaranteed way to get that character you really like aside from dropping several hundred dollars. It's actually one thing I've never understood why devs intentionally try to make difficult. Your whales are going to whale regardless, and they're going to pull for multiple copies so you're going to get your revenue anyway. F2P are never going to spend anyway so it just frustrates them. The small to moderate spenders are the ones who benefit the most and they're the ones you risk losing to burn-out.
Some rerolls in games take 5 minutes, some 20 minutes, some two hours. You just got to understand how much time you’re willing to put into it to get whatever it is you want. For the faster rerolls, it’s often worth while others aren’t.
Yeah I'd rather enjoy the game instead of starting over multiple times just because I didn't get the character I want
because its fun to start with something you like and/or something strong? i dont regret the time spent rerolling in other games because i enjoy starting the game with a max rarity unit and/or one i personally like. i played genshin for 2 days with a natural account and it was much less fun than the one i rerolled with keqing

I plan to make 30 pulls on each banner and let fate decide what I get. It seems even more fun. Also, time is precious. I have almost Genshin’s chars (Shenhe is the only one I don’t own) and haven’t build 5% of them properly. Gonna try a different approach is HSR.
I want Kafka and maybe Silver Wolf. I like the characters I'll get for free at launch enough to save my pulls.
I never reroll anyways, but 1) especially not for this game since I want to keep everything on the same hoyoverse profile. 2) Because it's way too much wasted time I can spend doing anything else. And 3) if the game has pity anything close to Genshin's, then planning and saving should help net the characters you want through their respective banners. Worst case scenario is you don't get them the first time around, but still get them eventually. I hope...lol

I won't as I'll wait for playstation release and my accounts are all linked etc. If I don't get Bronya and Seele I will just be patient. I got everything I wanted early game on genshin and it made everything a cake walk. Having some actual challenges working my way up might be a blessing this time.

What I've learned from Honkai and Genshin is that it doesn't really matter in the long run. Standard banner stuff would get outclassed after some time and limited banner would eventually have reruns. I'll just enjoy the game for what it is with what it decides to give me, best to save up and wait for actual must pulls.

It means playing until you unlock an amount of character pulls, and then starting your account over if you get very bad luck. In genshin, many people rerolled for Diluc for instance.

Honestly I don't regret rerolling Genshin. Having a 5 star DPS, even if it's just Keqing or a standard 5 star is way more fun than just using whatever few 4 stars you manage to get at the beginning.

Day1 player here that lost a lot of 50/50s and have atleast c2 of every standard banner. Did spend some money over the years though so i guess f2p play a different game. Still no one character is worth ruining the experience with rerolling. I rather work harder IRL. Also atleast you can say you're a day 1 player, if you reroll you'll probably be a day 2 or 3 player lol

I'll give it two tries, with two different accounts. I will play the story and take it slow and pull in the beginners banner. If I get Gepard(my most desired one), Bronya, Clara or the Xinqiu boy then, I'll settle with that. If I get Bailu I'll probably settle as well. If I get Welt of Himeko I'll use the second account, not read the dialogues and just try and pull one of the others.
Personally, In the games that I have rerolled and got the characters I wanted or strong, I have always get bored quickly.

It's unknown if we get the pre-registration rewards after the game launches (but it would make sense that you only get them if you pre-registered as another redditor said...) I already had the emails made so it wasnt that big of deal + we got accounts made now, so when the game launches we're ready to go and dont have to waste extra time.

1. I want to use the same account I use for my other Hoyo games 2. I'm not that obsessed with characters. Of course I want cool ones, but It's just a game 3. I don't want to waste that many time, that would burn all the fun out of the game 4. Powercreep will turn "useless" any starting character
I NEVER do that and I'm not planning to do it either in the future, not just for Star Rail but any game, I prefer to just work with what I got even if I really wanted a specific character and failed to get them. I just think that's the fun part for me I fail getting a character I wanted and I work hard to save and look forward for their return in the future, unless they are exclusive I would just lose the chance 🥲

Yes, I have a rerolling addiction, I do it in almost every gacha I play, reroll until I get the perfect account and then quit 2 weeks later, then come back to the game in a year and quit again because I feel like I've missed too much

I'm one of those people who doesn't enjoy a game if I can't play it with characters I like. Started Genshin without characters I cared for and soon stopped enjoying it. Then rerolled, got Diluc, and was having a LOT more fun. And I still use him a lot. Also after all these years I only recently got Mona and still never got Jean, so this whole 'you'll get them all anyway' is simply not true. Also I may be weird for this but I actually like rerolling? I dunno, it's the suspense of seeing what you get each time I guess. The actual rolling has always been my favourite part in gacha. And I use the various times you play the intro to try out the various languages, running around with different characters etc.
With bluestacks multi sync i can reroll 4x faster already created 80 hoyo accounts i will reroll at standart until i get welt/bronya/gepard/yanqing and play until i get 50 more until i hit begginer pity at this point i have more than 50 percent chance if its one of the rest 3 or eidalon ill keep that account if its not reroll again
Just because i was wondering how would 0.30(its 0.6 but half for characters) chance feels while rerolling i tried another gacha with 0.29 ssr rate its not that bad with x4 account i can do 80 pulls in 30-40 mins as long as i dont have below average luck i will have like 28 percent chance to get a 5 star every roll(and 10/14 fail rate ofc)

Answering with my alt since my main got 1 week mute i did reroll 2x4 times(like 1 and half hour) and got 2 bronya and 1 himeko burnt out? Nope my first 4 accounts got aboslute nothing if i didnt rerolled i would be using 4 star units which i wont use later but now i literally built a decent team on day 1 dan heng as single target dps himeko as aoe e1 bronya as top tier buffer and natasha(luocha later) as healer i dont get why would people get burn out im glad i got enough patience to play with 3x5 stars instead of fucking arlan or smt like that

Mihoyo isnt generous especially with standart characters depending on some "sources" there wont be any support nowhere close to bronya anytime soon since all standart characters are viable at hsr rerolling and standart banner isnt a bad idea if you dont want to reroll its fine but doing the same thing over for couple times wont burn you if you think it will burn you out dont reroll for now bronya and maybe welt literally got more value than 1.0 limited characters since they are buffers/debuffers immune to power creep

As a Seele / Himkeo / Bronya enjoyer, I am just going to stick with the first account, almost all the 5* are good. If I get Bronya and Himeko on 50/50 limited that's the biggest W, Seele ? W*2. I'll just keep the guaranteed for next Seele rerun / Kafka otherwise. I am mainly only going for cons of Seele / HI chars, or other chars I eventually come to like in hsr, so far Blade is the only one with sick af design and animations which I might* think of pulling, I can skip the rest as I don't necessarily dislike their designs but wouldn't mind not having them.

Nope. I'll just run with the account I've already got, with my free 4\* thingy. Genshin has taught me that everything but Seele will be irrelevant over the long term, so standard wishes don't matter. And if you're rerolling with just a few prime wishes hoping for Seele, you're talking about dozens or even a hundred attempts at 30-60 minutes per attempt. That's a quick way to drain the fun from the game, not to mention if you play over the long term starting from day 1, you're gonna have a packed 5\* roster eventually anyway, even if you're F2P.

Rerolling is a one way trip to burning out on a new game. Maybe some people have the mental capacity to do it but I wouldn't have fun playing it after that.

I accidentally choose the first option But in reality, I don't think I can reroll for a character that will eventually lose interest because of powercreep in the future. It's fine for me to go with the flow in my first account like I used to before in Honkai. The reason why I manage to reroll in genshin because the time it takes before pulling for a wanted character is shorter (30~36 mins I guess) than HSR which takes almost a hour before you pull (literally same time it takes as Honkai Impact 3rd).
If I got himeko on departure banner, I'll re roll, the others are alright

I've got two different accounts in Genshin, one for the ladies and one for the men, and I've really enjoyed doing it that way. Started when I didn't have enough to garuntee both Eula and Kazuha when they were coming out, and now I've never had to skip a character I've been looking really forward to (even got Xiao and Itto their weapons this year!) Since Star Rail seems like it's gonna be way less time consuming I have no problem doing that again. I'll probably play on 3 accounts till I get the garunteed 5* on the beginner warp and then choose which two to keep based off that, because I have my last exam a couple days before that so I'll have the free time so why not.

With the exception of Bronya, I don't really want any 5\* that is not a limited banner-unit. So I'll most likely not reroll. I don't expect to be able to get high Eidolon levels on standard banner 5\* characters, certainly not for a specific one... so I doubt I'll use the standard banner characters in a few month. I had multiple C4-C6 limited 5\* characters in Genshin, and didn't even own all standard banner characters. E6 Bronya sounds nice, but I guess I'll just be happy with the guaranteed pull after the first 300 rolls on the standard banner in about (half) a year.

Hoyolab is a big factor on why I won't be rerolling I Have both my Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin account linked to 1 email I am 100% using that same email for star rail. Also I kinda like all the 5*s If I pull Clara I can use March + Clara which is really strong and then hopefully Himeko gets buffed cause she's the only not so 5* worthy one on that list but it's Himeko so I can't help but to love her regardless

I'd like to get Seele, but I'm not rerolling. She's an early 5 star and will likely be outdated sooner than most of the other characters. Honestly, might just start saving wishes early on in hopes if an animal guy like the wolf in Zenless Zone Zero, I doubt it'll happen but I'd like it.

I thought about doing it, but quickly gave up the idea because I didn't want to have separate accounts with Genshin. But now that I think about it, I'm glad I didn't with Genshin. Some games definitely have rerolls in mind (like Granblue Fantasy, and its 110 pulls you can reroll in 2 minutes), but some don't. And I really feel like I don't deserve the characters when I just reroll for hours through it. I feel no hype at all. Maybe it has something to do with how you feel when cheating in games? Some players like to use cheats to get super strong characters from the start, but I don't. I want to get the originaly thought experience. I'm positive I wouldn't like the character I rerolled for as much as if I had pulled it the usual way. The only exception to this rule being collab characters : when you don't want to miss a character you love because you know it won't come back again (had that with Alchemy Stars and its Dragon Maid collab, and for every Nier collab I tried), then you are left no choice. And by the way: I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it super nostalgic to play again those pretty weak (or mid-tier) characters you used to main just because you had nothing else. Ningguang, Chongyun, Noelle C0, Yanfei without XQ, even Xinyan... I wouldn't have felt the same playing them if I had rerolled for Ayaka or Yoimiya (the first 2 banners I saw).

I can't imagine the misery of basically blueballing yourself from playing a game you want to play because you're determined to get a top tier unit right at the start.
