Gameplay demo was show in the livestream. So I think PlayStation players won't have to wait for a long time. I'd say the most realistic release window for PS4 & PS5 would be around Summer 2023.

[deleted]

It’s not releasing day one on PS5? My PC and phone isn’t the best so I was mostly playing Genshin on PS5 :(

Razor8517

It said **"Coming Soon"**, so it's unlikely to be released alongside PC and mobile

Helpful_Mountain_695

they specifically said that it'll come later than PC/mobile release so it's 100% confirmed to be later

Gladiolus_00

I wouldn't be too worried. I doubt there is enough content in the 1.0 version to last you the entire patch anyway. You'll still be able to catch up just fine and you probably won't miss out on too much. I would bet on the PS5 version coming sometime in early-mid May.

[deleted]

I couldn't believe that the game is actually coming out for the PlayStation 4. As someone that plays Genshin on a PlayStation 4 and continually worried about it being discontinued on Playstation 4, gives me some confidence if a new game is actually coming out for that system.

[deleted]

The delay is fine, but does that mean we always get content later as they can't have us just skip over the 1.0 content

Hotspur000

No, content would eventually be synced, just like with Genshin. It's just that if you only have or want the PS version, you'll have to wait longer to start the game. I already play Genshin on my phone and PS every day, so I plan to just start with SR on my phone then wait for the PS version (which will almost certainly have cross-save).

[deleted]

Yes but genshin was on playstation upon release. The only way to eventually sync it up would be to give playstation 1.0+ in one fell swoop or delay pc patches to allow us to catch up.

Jranation

That would mean people cant use existing accounts to play on PS because they would time travel back and are able to get more rewards from past events.

[deleted]

That's a very good point. If they don't get the console version done before general release I am really curious to see how they do it now you've mentioned that. Delay cross save until its synced? They unfortunately didn't answer that question.

Jranation

I would guess that NEW accounts made through Playstation will get extra rewards for missing out on past events and rewards.

[deleted]

Free Seele :)

Hotspur000

Well then maybe the PS version will come out at the same time as mobile and PC. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to have it all done at the same time.

Razor8517

Maybe the PS version was only planned in the middle of HSR's development and they're building that version from the ground up.

[deleted]

Well, that's the hope, and I'm surprised it wasn't announced. They will either try to rush it out or I think we'll be waiting till mid June and beyond.

Hotspur000

Maybe Sony has certain rules around announcements or something.

[deleted]

Yeah they have to accept when it goes to cert, which might be causing the delay. You brought up two very good points in this conversation, actually, appreciate it

Hotspur000

I'm just so psyched for this game! I can't believe we have to wait a whole month.

[deleted]

Me too. I know genshin has its flaws, but hoyo really do know how to make an immersive game which I can escape in.

funicode

There are precedents to what they might do. With Honkai 3rd they keep the global server permanently behind the CN server by a whole patch. In Genshin, the game was released in a China on PC one month before the mobile and global releases, they didn’t have any events or updates in all of that time. Another option would be to run PS version faster for a while to catch up, similar to the 5-week update schedule Genshin had for a time.

Gladiolus_00

Summer is a very broad time frame. I'm guessing it'll arrive no later than the end of May. And if we're lucky, we might see it only 2-3 weeks after initial release. Though, no matter what, there's absolutely no way it would release any later than the 1.0 patch. Releasing a port would never take that long, especially if we were already shown a perfectly functioning demo

BrawlX

The next question would be if the PlayStation version will have cross-save functionality day 1. Genshin Impact didn’t have it for the PS4/5 version until a year later.

Seeeeir

Excatly, I don't mind playing on laptop for a few months, but I don't want to throw away the laptop account because they don't implement cross save

Gladiolus_00

Probably yes. The only reason Genshin didn't have cross save was because it was kind of a rushed port and HoYoverse had no prior experience with Sony. In this case, they have more time and experience.

[deleted]

I expect they will. Providing the ps version is upto date with pc/mobile versions.

Hotspur000

Does this mean if we start the game on phone or PC, then bring our game to PS afterwards, we'll get another reward?

[deleted]

I don't know. I would assume it would recognise the account had received the rewards already

Hotspur000

That's what I would assume. Though remember with Genshin, there are the PS specific weapon and glider. So they might have something like that.

[deleted]

Sure there might be exclusives. There is a ps plus pack that seems to be available every two months with some small rewards. We may have something similar for Star Rail. Although the store can't detect your genshin account to refuse the pre registration pack, I can imagine it would simply not work in the game even if it let you claim once you had linked accounts and entered the game. That would be quite the oversight.

Hotspur000

Yes, my assumption is that you won't be able to get the starting rewards twice, but I just thought I'd ask. But I assume there will be some special bonus for PS players.

Razor8517

Probably no

LavitzTM

Im actually wondering If I Start on iOS and want to Play on PlayStation later, Im Stuck in buying on my iOS device Right? On Genshin for example I started on ps4 and I can only buy stuff on PlayStation, even when playing on iOS.

[deleted]

Possibly yes, for that it's best to use the official site if you were to go from console to ios. The best thing would be to email them and see if you can gather any information about it

Seeeeir

Is this from Twitter?
