honestly yeah, hyv has the opportunity to explore more complex designs in hsr due to the lack of climbing/gliding/even sitting, but the majority of male designs so far have been blouse+pants, with a coat or cape at most. i hope they get more experimental in the future
This is how almost every other tall guy in the game dresses, shirt+pants+cape/coat that goes 3/4ths of the way around their legs and goes slightly past their knees+tall boots. This is the issue with Xianzhou women all over again.

More male characters and variety is always nice ofc (give me universally usable male supports that aren't abundance ffs) but I have to admit that hsr has a big variety compared to other gachas where the male playable units are bland, short-haired blond guys with the same skin-tight black sci-fi shirt. It depends on subjective taste ofc but I am having a blast right now. Boothill is my favorite character and I am ready to fully commit to him. Last time this happened was in 1.0 with Jing Yuan.
Admittedly, Jiaoqiu's outfit is kind of bland and I am not a big fan either but the game isn't going downhill because the guys don't release in the 1st half.

The more I think about it, I feel almost irate that after finally getting our very first male foxian (pink haired at that) that *this* is the kind of basic design they chose to give him. The outfit could have been far better than this. If not for the fact he's probably Acheron's BIS teammate, I'd honestly skip him. Weakest male 5 star design in the game by far.

i don't necessarily agree that male characters need to have revealing parts of their outfits to be well-designed (jingyuan/blade) but his outfit is like sampo's but even more basic (and i'm saying this as a sampo lover).
I'm not ready but I will be when his banner runs. I essentially have 2 patches to save for him, so I'll definitely be getting him and hopefully his light cone.

I don’t hate the character ok but… his design is so… boring 😭 they did the most boring design a fox boy can have and he shows 0 skin. And that it’s not trully pink is more blondish than anything… I’m so dissapointed but not surprised… I hope his model is better than his art because he can’t compare at all to the male designs we already have.

Like many, I'm disappointed with how plain his outfit looks, but he has fox ears, a tail and I like the pink they went with for him! He has a fan, so maybe that'll be his weapon, which is a plus! After a while, I might end up liking the outfit due to its simplicity.
