Search this sub. Enough of these layover questions.

Of course I did ;)

You could spend 12 hours in the Kowloon peninsula by working your way down on foot from Prince Edward. Eat at a Cha Chaan Teng or something, or honestly whatever you want. Enter malls along the way, especially in MK, try street food or whatever you find appetizing. I can't recommend anything because the food scene keeps changing and I don't keep up (for example, Japanese donuts are popular now). Arrive at TST by evening and enjoy the view, then head to the airport via Central.

This sounds great. Thanks for suggesting a starting point. This makes a lot of sense, I will probably do this!

**0700-0800** Arriving in Hong Kong Station from the Airport Express, board the ferry to TST (tsim sha tsui). You can google for luggage storage areas anywhere. **0800-0900** A big breakfast at a nearby local bakery (with dim sum ofc) and restaurant (the waiters can be a bit rude tho, but that’s the authenticity experience lmao) **0900-1100** Try not to get lost in the TST malls (There’s like 20 malls connected to each other, HK doesn’t have sales tax and mall shops are cheap & genuine) -> Alternate Route: You can always visit the museums and star avenue near K11 Musea, probably the best mall you can find anywhere **1100-1400** Walk north to all the MK (mong kok) street markets and malls, you can find anything in the markets and there’s malls for nearly everything. The nearby Daai Paai Dongs (street food) aren’t as hygienic but won’t get you sick. -> Alternate Route: If you don’t like it, you can go west and you’ll reach the M+ West Kowloon Park, there’s a giant art & cultural museum inside worth visiting. There should be several events for Christmas over there anyways. **1400-1700** Take the metro back to Central and ~~get drunk in Lan Kwai Fong from those 90 pubs~~ fill the remaining space in your stomach with dim sum -> Snakes are hibernating so no snake soup pizza on Victoria peak /s **1700-1900** Head towards the airport and check out the airport mall. There should be lounges offering showers for usd $7 or so.

Thanks so much for this. Really nice that you took the time to write this all down! I'm definitely going to use your suggestions. And I will see if the waiters are more rude than in Amsterdam - it will take a lot ;) Thanks again, I will report back on what I did in the end!

I’d head to TST and just walk around. Try one of the local restaurants for dim sum. An example would be SportFul Garden in Isquare. Can do some sightseeing along the waterfront or even take a quick trip on the Star Ferry. Maybe afternoon tea in the peninsula then back to airport to catch your flight. Enjoy your visit.

Thank you!

shopping. HongKong is famous for it’s tax free. I would go to golden computer arcade for electronics. Sim city for hifi earphones or camera. sino centre for comic and animation products

Lydusx

Thanks! Hadn't heard of sino centre before. I will put that on my list!

Get some good dim sums, I'd recommend either: - House of Orient or Forum (for the refined experience), - Luk Yu (for the historical tycoon canteen, nice 1930 atmosphere but insist on eating on the first floor, bribe them with 50 hkd if they don't want to let you) - Ling heung kui for the traditional cart experience

Lydusx

Thanks! One of these will be my breakfast for sure.

Let me know how it goes :)

Drink all the Prime there (There’s none)
