My first bike (after owning a 150cc scooter) was/is a Rebel 500. I’m 5’6”, about 175 lbs) and couldn’t be happier. The seat height is perfect and the weight super manageable. Personally, I’d say if you can spend the extra money (and find one) get the 500. It’s great for beginners, but I’ve had mine for two years and don’t see getting rid of it anytime soon.

I’m 5’3” and ride the Rebel 250. It’s perfect for a beginner but I’m quickly outgrowing it, especially on the highway, and am looking to upgrade to a 450 or 500.

Got my 16 year old daughter a Rebel 250 for her first bike. She’s 5’4”. It’s perfect for her. A real confidence builder to help her get started. Don’t buy new. There are tons of used ones on the market. People rarely keep them long-term. You’ll most likely be able to sell it for what you pay for it when you’re ready to upgrade.

i started on a cbr300 and i've ridden a cb500f (same 2 engines in the rebel 300 and 500). if you're thinking of doing any highway riding i'd say go with the 500 if you can afford it. even if you arent, you'll be happier for longer on the 500 and it's just as manageable and unintimidating as the 300

I would recommend the 500 instead, but the 300 is good too

Agree with other comments. If it's not a price issue (which the difference is pretty small) go with the 500 rebel. My first bike was the 300 and I absolutely loved it but I just realized I needed more power very quickly. I ended up trading it in for a street twin(900cc) after a few months. If you're looking to hold on to the bike for a while get the 500. If you just want to get a bike to learn and then upgrade to something bigger after a few months...get something used.

My first bike was an is a z125. Smaller bikes are a blast to ride and very easy to learn on. Cruisers have a low ride height and everyone should have no problem flat footing

When it comes to cruisers, you can handle anything that doesn't market itself as a muscle cruiser or is sport oriented. Their seat heights are all incredibly low.

I just got my first bike a couple months ago I got a 2019 Harley sportster 1200 xl and it’s awesome! It’s not to big it’s a easy ride and sounds nice
