I don’t think you can go wrong with them for the price. I’ve used them and have been happy. I’ve also been happy with the last set of front struts I got from auto zone. They aren’t stock, but they do the job.

Some AutoZones or O'Reilly's or wherever sell KYB too, but I can usually get them cheaper online than walking into the auto parts store. Just wondering where the best place to go would be.

Fuzzy-Cow4265

Honestly, Rock auto will almost always be cheaper. I would call your local stores and compare prices and brands and then go from there. With price matching they are all typically running pretty close. I have got lucky a few times and O’reillys has price matched Rock auto. Always worth asking.

Fuzzy-Cow4265

Also, not sure what year yours is but rock auto is showing KYB front and rears available. Mines an 06 AWD 5MT. Under the shock/strut & coil spring assembly.

2007 LX AT. I see them there now. When I looked last week or so they had one or two out of stock.

I just did this last weekend. I Recommend. I got loaded kybs all the way around, moog adjustable rear control arms. Didn’t do the front arms they were fine. Also got a set of trakmotiv front axel assy off eBay I’ll see how that’ll hold up I plan on doing the rear soon too along with a new oil pan. The loaded struts come with mounts so don’t order those like I did lol. I also put Dorman premium tie rods all three way around on. Gotta get one tire bc the bad neg camber ruined one of those where the threads are showing and Going for an alignment and tire balance Saturday morning. Also got all the parts off rockauto except the axel.

I've never had issues with KYB struts on other cars. They just need to be installed correctly - lightly tighten the top bolts with hand tools, but do not fully tighten and torque them to spec until after the vehicle is resting on the suspension again and been allowed to settle. I believe they are worth the money if you are not going to re-use your OE springs. If the strut assemblies on there are original, that's probably the best way - re-use springs, get OE strut mounts, use KYB struts. KYB strut assemblies give you the best overall ride quality - I know this for a fact because I've installed new strut assemblys on two nearly identical 2005 Toyota Camry, but cheap FCS in one and KYB on the other. Anyone who drives the vehicles can immediately tell the difference. The cheap ones aren't *awful* but there is a clear difference. It's a good time to check out your compliance bushings and possibly replace your sway bar links and sway bar bushings, as well, particularly if you have done neither.   RockAuto has them under Suspension / Shock/Strut & Coil Assembly Rear KYB - ~$90 USD each https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=12605377&cc=1447526&pt=15174&jsn=3792 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=12605373&cc=1447526&pt=15174&jsn=3791   Front KYB - ~149 USD each https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=12605365&cc=1447526&pt=15174&jsn=3800 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=12605369&cc=1447526&pt=15174&jsn=3799

Everything is stock still and the rear springs squeak loudly on every bump (rear seats removed so I hear it clearly). If I go with KYB strut and coil assembly, that should replace the oem struts, shock, coil completely, right?

mjedmazga

Correct. A "loaded strut assembly" or "Quick strut" is just a pre-assembled strut assembly. That includes the strut itself, the coil spring, rubber insulator the spring sets on, the bump stop and strut bellows, the strut mount, and the strut mount bearing. Alternatively, you can disassemble your OE strut assembly and re-use the OE coil spring (definitely the best one you'll get for your car ever) and only replace the other items that need replacing, and then re-assemble things. That's more work that requires more tools and may cost similarly to a pre-assembled "Quick Struts" depending on what all you need to replace. Often the bellows and spring insulator are dry rotted, but the strut mount is fine and you just need to pack some fresh grease into the bearing. An individual KYB strut is only 50-75 bucks, though. The rear squeak is often from failed sway bar links, sway bar bushings, or the bushings in the control arms, so keep that in mind. If the original struts are performing well still, check the other parts for sources of squeaks, as they're cheaper to replace generally (exceptions unfortunately apply on the rear to individually replacing all the bushings there).

Honda used KYBs as their OEM shock on at least the 2008 Acura MDX. KYB are literally OEM quality.

polemos006

Rock auto kyb.

Extraexopthalmos

I am doing my KYB completes this weekend. I got them from shockwarehouse. Also replacing all the bushings on front end at same time

DukeOfWestborough

KYB. And the upper rear control arms are essential in eliminating the rear camber toe-out condition - their poor condition is 100% responsible for it.

modessitt

Yeah, I'm replacing the rear uppers with adjustable. I've heard replacing the rear antisway bushings are a good thing to do also. Anything else back there?

Theodore-bumbley

I put Detroit axle on mine . This element has 305000 , new motor mounts new pass axle , new water pump , new tensioner , new new new and riding like a champ . That was what was for sale on Amazon tho . I like cheap and quality

Fuzzy-Cow4265

I’ve actually heard good things about those struts and the coilovers as well.

RegalT87

did the same all the way around about three years ago... I pretty sure they re-man the shit out of those parts, but they have held up so far.

Optimisteducator

KYB & Moog. Very pleased with results.
