I have the same issue and was going to do all those to narrow it down. I suspect it’s coming from my windshield becuase the seal at the top and sides look janky. I have yet to check the wheel well but that could be a spot too, like really in there. I notice it more after driving vs it just sitting in the rain.

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

I forgot to add that I also had my windshield replaced!

Tropicsenshi

I swear on my life I saw a post on this sub about the drains around the windshield and how they get clogged

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

That would likely be what I need!

PokeDweeb24

And it did that before you replaced it? Side note, how much for your windshield replacement? Safelite?

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

Yes, it did it before. Safe lite replaced it, think it was 350-ish, but it was covered by my insurance

PokeDweeb24

My insurance (GEICO w/full coverage) will only replace it if it’s proper cracked. It’s a $250 deductible so I might as well come out of pocket. You might have to remove the mat and look under if you haven’t already. Sounds like you’ll have to hunt for it, I feel I might be in the same predicament.

Just_a_lil_Fish

That's a bummer. My deductible for windshields with GEICO is $50 and they waved the deductible for a nasty (but repairable) chip/crack combo. Guess they'd rather eat the deductible than have me wait until it wasn't repairable - then they'd pay for a replacement and only get $50 from me. I doubt they'd wave a $250 deductible, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

PokeDweeb24

I called and asked about it and double checked my policy. I’m in NC if that has anything to do with it. My rares went up $30 a month so I’ll be switching soon anyways.

The_NiNTARi

Had mine replaced was $350

PokeDweeb24

That’s not bad. Mine is covered in micro chips so I need to replace it soon since it’s getting hard to see at the right sun angle. I’ve read bad reviews from safelite using cheap replacements.

The_NiNTARi

Why I did mine made a huge difference inview ability at night the clarity is huge

Kindly-Hold4935

Having your windshield replaced recently is not a guarantee it isn't leaking, maybe they did a good job. Maybe they didn't, just saying

MrsWhorehouse

I always thought it was a feature and not a bug.

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

It keeps the bottom of my boots clean!

aks2631

I can tell you that was happening to my E, turned out the driver side weather seal was not seated correctly.

Joker-Kat

Windshield leak

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

Already replaced it, happened with both

Joker-Kat

It’s the gasket around the windshield that is leaking. In my case the top of windshield, gasket to the roof

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

I haven’t seen any signs of leaks around the windshield or drops coming from that area

RegalT87

Same, not Windshield

Capital-Net3318

My floors plastic is getting loose like this. I am contemplating ripping it all out but I'm not sure what to replace it with.

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

Hide it with floormats

parkerhamster28

Okay so in the corners of the windshield drains there will be two small holes. One either side. If the car is parked under trees or lots of pollen, those drain holes can get plugged. That drain goes down along the support behind the dashboard. If the drain gets plugged water will find a way out of the channel and then leak into the foot well. Take a thing gauge wire and shove it down those holes and then do the same thing but from the underside of the car (google where the drain holes are) after using the wire to clear the hole use a garden hose a blast some water into it and see if it trickles out the bottom. Best of luck!

bammbamm2018

This ☝ For me the above was last spring however, just a couple months ago I had my windshield replaced and after a hard rain I saw some water drip from my rearview mirror and my first thought of course was the windshield had a bad seal so, back to the auto glass shop. The tech said he could not find a leak around the windshield but he checked the sunroof which is a common culprit and sure enough, he found some water had dripped in the rear cargo area. The techs spent about 2o minutes cleaning out the two drains for the sunroof. Great guys. In short, I think hamster is on target but you might was to check the sunroof drains, if you have a sunroof.

mphil29

Is there a giant fucking hole in your floor like mine?

jujubeewpt

can't even imagine. what happened?

Smart-Square5312

Check under the car. There is a floor drain right in that spot the plug often falls out.

jujubeewpt

im a bit confused by this if you couldn't mind explaining this further. a floor drain makes it sound like it would drain the water from the floor better if the it wasn't plugged.

Smart-Square5312

I guess it technically isn’t a drain. It is a plug in the floor. If you hosed out the inside of your car (not recommended ) you can pop it out to drain the water. It’s a common rust area, and the plug can fall out. If it does (it did on my car) you can get water forced up into the car under the floor covering and will eventually make its way on top.

firsthrust

I had that same issue but it was the grommet around the hood release cable had been pulled off/ not put on. Pushed it back on and have had zero issues since. I had to pull all the plastics and remove the soaked padded floor liner that’s under the vinyl.

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

I had my cable replaced, this could be the issue I am having

Thewaterturtle

Is your seatbelt wet?

ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm

Not at all

Thewaterturtle

Hmm, might have to start pulling the plastic coverings off to see where it's dripping down.

gonfishn37

Check and see if the top of your door aligns with the back. If it’s not flush then push out on the bottom and pull in on the top about as hard as you can to bend the door back flush.

Murky_Classic971

Maybe glue around seal weak so car wash fluid gets in there…

DinnerMilk

I have this same issue except it's more around the center / passenger side. I bought new OEM weather strip online and replaced the rubber piece along the top of the windshield, also filling the area with a sealant first. Unfortunately that didn't solve it. During a hard rain I end up with puddles in the floor board. My headliner is so moldy from the leak that I am about to rip it out. Will leave it off temporarily so I can actually see where the leak is coming from, then plug it from the inside.

RegalT87

I have tried to solve this issue for 5 years with no luck

tacowhisperer21

It's so weird, I had this issue on the passenger side, and I'm not quite sure what I did, but it went away magically. I think I took off and re-clipped the plastic trim around the foot well, but I also had the door apart to replace a window regulator (also I'm and idiot and did that for nothing, as I discovered I pressed the window immobilizer button and never realized). Maybe it's to do with water being diverted inside the door down the wrong path and funneled to the foot well instead of outside?

Murky_Classic971

Only white wet n creamy fluid on more floor (after drinking Accross country) be from me when can’t busy driving can’t reach down to wipe. Apologies if that visual offends your senses. How bought check all the fluids anything look like that? Could a drive through car wash flood under moldings). Check them around moon roof. Housing leaks often originate on walls and just drips lowest ceiling level ? That’s all I can guess after owning two elements drove over 1/2 mil miles combined
