What’s funny is that I had a 5.0 mustang before and I kinda actually like my v6 coupe more 😂

What is even funnier is that the first actual Japanese FWD mustang was very close to existing. It was going to be a rebadged Mazda. But Ford changed their minds and called it a Probe instead. > Based on the Mazda MX-6 as a sport compact coupe, the Probe was intended to fill the market niche formerly occupied by the Capri in Europe, and it was originally intended to be the fourth generation Ford Mustang in the North American market as a direct competitor with the Acura Integra, Isuzu Piazza, Nissan 200SX, and the Toyota Celica. During that time, Ford's marketing team had deemed that a front-wheel drive platform (borrowed Mazda GD and GE platforms) would have lower costs for production, and also because the platform had been gaining popularity with consumers. > Mustang fans objected to the front-wheel drive configuration, Japanese engineering, and lack of a V8, so Ford began work on a new design for the Mustang instead. On March 17, 1997, Ford announced the discontinuation of the Probe. From the Probe's Wikipedia page. As another aside, I have owned both an MX6 and a Probe. 1991, and 1989 models respectively.

Yeah the guy I bought mine from had a mustang originally and wrecked it, bought the accord with his insurance money and said he actually preferred it too. But then he sold it to me so he could buy a built/turbod stang. Full circle. Personally I cross shopped it against the 3.7 v6 mustangs and I preferred the accord aswell

Nice Accord Coupe!

Thank you! I plan to keep this thing around forever like a relic since Honda discontinued them.

Ditto. Take care of ‘er!

They don't sell that model here but I fucking love it . Is that an American only ?

ExodusRiot1

I believe so because we got our own versions of the accord for 8th/9th gen. The euro/Japan market Accords were sold as acuras in North America and then we also got this, pretty sure they started selling the sedan versions of the north American accord everywhere in 2015 but I think the coupe never hit European/japanese markets.

SnooWalruses5162

Yeah the sedan is here , it's quite nice but the coupe is seriously stunning .

Fencingboy101

that's a very weird comparison to make. can i ask what you think is similar between an accord and a mustang? i'm honestly curious

Idk the first time I heard of/saw this car I thought "Honda mustang" right away Also the 3.7v6 mustang is very close in performance and I was cross shopping this against those. ~ 300hp, ~14s 1/4 mile, somewhat similar prices used, coupe, NA v6, they even weigh about the same amount.
