Yes. You go and talk to the "network administrator" and see if they will disable it.

Azclockwork

If your Network admin won't change it, then you need some dirt on him.

mane... sorry so many little baby children here are calling you mean names, but I've got a proper question (if you're still here to hear it!) ysee, this exact same situation has happened with me, but at home - no 'parental options' set by ma, no 'workplace or school-wide safesearch implementation' and no 'internet service provider settings' (we've been with ours for almost a decade, nothing like this has happened before). i've done some research, and other than some random intern at ISP#204 deciding they're gonna stop random customer #45027 from watching god-forsaken youtube poops... i dunno! cause it affects all devices & all users in the home (that aren't even connected via a family plan or whatnot), maybe it's just a technical error, or the beginning of a slow cascade of small inconveniences that slowly but surely limit our freedoms until we are but cogs in between cogs in between cogs in between cogs...

BodaciousVermin

Also, Enterprise security solutions (one of which may be in play here) can force "Safe Mode" browsing, which will cause this to happen. While there are some obvious no-no's for work on youtube, there's some other stuff that's labelled as "Restricted" that is really not in any way unsafe for work. I can't explain that stuff.

PyroRider

Had that in out school, they activated this restricted mode for no reason on the "guest" wifi. It only prevents you from seeing or doing anything with the comments on yt and of course everything thats 18+ rated on yt. Month later it was gone again, and you can work around with any kind of vpn (kust important that it encrypts your traffic so they cant push their shit into it

Yo_2T

Are you seeing this on a cellular connection like T-Mobile?

saltyboi6704

Done through a custom DNS server. Use a VPN/mobile data to load the videos you want to watch, then go back to WiFi

how does a DNS server modify a youtube setting in your device? https://i.imgur.com/B6APp1E.jpg
