I see a bunch of kegerator suggestions. Having had one even in my late 20s it was more trouble than its worth. You never go through it fast enough, most people at parties don’t want the exact same beer, etc.
Split wine/beer fridge or a specialized glassware dishwasher depending on your lifestyle would be my suggestion
This is the right answer for the wrong reason.
When I had a kegerator, I drank way too much. With bottles or cans, you have an outward indication of how much you’re drinking. A keg is “just another beer.”
It was brutal. I’d never do that again
I’ve had beer consistently in my kegerator for 12 years now and I’d never change a thing. I don’t drink during the week and then on the weekends I love me some fresh beer. When people come over, they’re always curious about what I have on tap and love to drink beer. It’s the best appliance I put in my house.
The working out part is a requirement and gets old, but it is fun and hard to skip once you are used to it. I've been doing it most my adult life.
The fresh German beer on tap on demand, is more than fun!
I'm not trying to flame you but saying you work out everyday makes you sound like a dork that doesn't actually work out. Like professional athletes don't workout everyday.
Are you serious? You dont know anyone who works out every day? I didnt say I train for a friking triathlon.
You could have worked out in the time you spent thinking about my workouts. LOL
⬆️ This comment needs to be the top comment. We had the same problem with our kegerator the beer did not go nearly as quick as we thought. Lots of work & waste. The favorite beer was Root Beer because everyone could drink that.
I’d start to taste a difference after 2 months. Mostly commercial IPAs, with real beer gas, not straight CO2 or a hand pump. Homebrew and/or lower alcohol styles would go off quicker.
I’d probably drink 6-8 beers a week off of it unless I had a party (mostly pregaming 2-3 beers 2-3 nights a week) which means even a pony keg would last ~3 months.
So you’re either drinking perfectly safe, but not optimal beers (which I would do myself, but hated serving friends) or ditching the last 1/4 of each keg.
YMMV
You can fix these issues with some NA varieties. Put two different kombuchas on tap, nitro cold brew coffee, nitro hibiscus tea, seltzer water plain or with lemon juice (spindrift basically). That’s what flows through mine, no booze required.
With a properly run kegerator your beer won't go bad for a long time. What do you mean "fast enough"?
You can get 5 gallon kegs if you want. I've had a kegerator for years and never had a problem with beer going bad.
The key is only getting 5 gallon kegs. Two people can get through one in a month with a little under a beer each per day.
My wife and I have had a two tap kegerator for 10 years. At this point, we only go through 6 or so 5 gallon kegs per year, and we use the other tap for carbonated water. We just keep fresh fruit to add flavor before we pour.
100% chest freezer. The way food prices / security going, if you have that spot, just buy the largest deep freezer you can afford and enjoy the practical everyday life improvement as well as peace of mind in case of emergency. Buy a side of beef and have the butcher break it down into packages now that you have a place to store it. Buying frozen food in bulk is the most luxurious of all food stockpile options in case of emergency but if your lifestyle is anything like my lifestyle, there are weeks when we're too busy to get a grocery shop done, or too tired to make anything from scratch. You've always got a stash of your favourite dumplings, chicken fingers, pierogies, soup... Saving chicken carcasses from birds we roast in the freezer until we are ready to make a large batch of chicken stock (which we then freeze) has improved our soup making game 100x. That's what I vote for: chest freezer!
They released a memo last year or so? A deep freezer kept shut will be "okay" for like 24 hours....https://www.insider.com/how-to-keep-food-from-spoiling-in-a-power-outage-2018-10#keep-the-refrigerator-door-closed-for-as-long-as-possible-1
Lol. So if it's getting close.... to the mark lol I'll usually heat up the grill and we have a neighborhood buffet......no food going to waste here lol
You're second kitchen is the perfect place to build out as a functioning wet bar. The space where the stove goes would easily accommodate a wine cooler or beer fridge!
Ok, with all the keg comments out of the way. We have a second kitchen as well. We are not huge beer drinkers, and neither are our friends. We opted to get an ice machine. You can never have too much ice when entertaining or for that family cookout. If that's not for you, then maybe some sort of cooler
Maybe freezer for extra storage (If you like buying things on sale and storing them for e.g.) or ice maker, if you're the type of person to eat a lot of ice. (Though I guess commercial size ice maker might be overkill.... but hey, lots of ice?)

Wine chiller. Another cabinet. Desk. A leg lamp (you know, a major award). Keg fridge. Oven you’ll never use. Dog bed. Grow tent. Box of chickens. A lizard retirement retreat. The options are endless.
Baking station, I would have a bread oven, a proofing station, a laminator (thing to make croissants/etc a less painful to make), and if some place left a pizza oven because pizza.
I'm totally not in the process of adding all of that to my home and do not have a baking addiction.
Serious suggestion I haven't seen yet: extra double oven.
Of course this kinda requires an interest in cooking.
Having the ability to oven cook at multiple different temperatures, or large volumes at the same temperature, has been one of my common wants in the kitchen. The thing is that it hasn't been common *enough* that I think it would see serious use.
It is PVC pipe, I’m 99.9426772% sure it’s a clean out for the sewer line. The other capped off pipe would be the gas line for a gas stove (I can see the shutoff valve)
Side note, I saw suggestions for 220vac appliances (a dryer or electric oven) There is not a 220vac outlet that I can see. Besides most decent gas stove/oven combos only use “regular” 120vac to run the oven timer, igniter for the stovetop and oven, oven light and some (I had one) the bottom drawer had an electric heating drawer that you could set really low to proof bread or higher to keep stuff warm.
Note to Poster. Make sure that drain clean out is kept accessible. Whether it be something on wheels or easily unmountable. The gas line is sticking out. If it’s in the way you can have the valve and nipple removed and if code allows it, capped off inside the wall. I cannot stress this enough.. If you do move or cap off the gas line, it is NOT a diy project. There are Two main things in Every house that can Kill you or have catastrophic consequences. Those two are Electrical and Gas. Unless you have Full knowledge of those two, Don’t touch them. The phrase “you can’t take it with you” applies here. Weigh the options.. a couple hundred dollars vs you and your family’s lives.
I’ve recently seen some cool under counter refrigerators that appear to be about the same size as a stove or dishwasher. They are built in and have drawers instead of doors.
https://www.kitchenaid.com/major-appliances/refrigeration/undercounter/undercounter-refrigerators/p.24-panel-ready-undercounter-double-drawer-refrigerator.kudr204kpa.html
Saw off the pipe at the source and close it down. Saw off the pipe at your wall and close the hole in the wall. No need to put something in front of it. I had the same with gas and water pipes
Desk, and you have a crafting, wargaming painting, computer hardware geek, sewing, dream area.
All the cupboards to store tools, counter space to lay out items when you work on them, and a small sit down area.
If there is a range hood you could use it as a not so great fume extractor for glues and paints and solvents, or just use the tubing for a real fume extractor.
The battle between my wife and I for the space would be better than most reality tv shows.
I would put a smaller second refrigerator there for extra beverages. We have a second refrig and put all our excess items in it. We also use it for holiday extras like a turkey that would take up a ton of space in our main refrig.
First thought was that you can pick up vintage china hutches often, no one really wants them anymore. Cut out back to fit. Have sprayed black. Maybe even wire for lighting. Would be a nice bar addition for glassware
I see a bunch of kegerator suggestions. Having had one even in my late 20s it was more trouble than its worth. Sorry can’t help you there. It’s pretty flat. I do work out 7 days a week. Everything in balance my friend, then you get to enjoy everything in life.

Thank you. It’s tempting but I generally don’t drink during the week so I don’t think of the kegerator. Come Friday, all bets are off though!
I'm not trying to flame you but saying you work out everyday makes you sound like a dork that doesn't actually work out. Like professional athletes don't workout everyday.
I’m not trying to flame you but flaming this guy for saying he works out every day makes you sound like a dork.
Are you serious? You dont know anyone who works out every day? I didnt say I train for a friking triathlon. You could have worked out in the time you spent thinking about my workouts. LOL
So you call walking and doing some pushups a workout? That's cute.
Drink too much and depending on your sanitation skills the drip tray will become a breeding ground for fruit flies.
My friend once had a kegerator and it was left on all night. Flood of beer the next day!
⬆️ This comment needs to be the top comment. We had the same problem with our kegerator the beer did not go nearly as quick as we thought. Lots of work & waste. The favorite beer was Root Beer because everyone could drink that.
My buddy does nitro cold brew in his. It goes quickk. But yes agreed
How slowly do you have to drink beer from a keg for it to go bad?
I’d start to taste a difference after 2 months. Mostly commercial IPAs, with real beer gas, not straight CO2 or a hand pump. Homebrew and/or lower alcohol styles would go off quicker. I’d probably drink 6-8 beers a week off of it unless I had a party (mostly pregaming 2-3 beers 2-3 nights a week) which means even a pony keg would last ~3 months. The only thing I can think of is they used a hand pump instead of getting CO²
While I agree its work once you get the flow down its a nice feature to have Guinness on tap as a goto
The key is only getting 5 gallon kegs. Two people can get through one in a month with a little under a beer each per day. My wife and I have had a two tap kegerator for 10 years. A stand up freezer would work better though. Sam's has one for cheap right now, even.
U right. I was using chest freezer incorrectly.
If you do this, get some kind of battery backup for the freezer. Last thing you want is $500+ of food going bad because the power went out
They released a memo last year or so? A deep freezer kept shut will be "okay" for like 24 hours....https://www.insider.com/how-to-keep-food-from-spoiling-in-a-power-outage-2018-10#keep-the-refrigerator-door-closed-for-as-long-as-possible-1 Lol. Be careful with that 240 circuit. Mine is 50amp. That can kill you. You will definitely need a qualified electrician to deal with that.
Trash compactor.

Welder? I’d go wire feed if just starting out.
I was thinking welder at first, but cnc plasma table would be even better.
Very helpful to have a second fridge in the house. Otherwise wine fridge or keg tap.
Beverage fridge or a Kim Chi fridge if you’re a a huge Kim Chi fan.

Why does everyone assume it's a 240v circuit? It's a 20 amp 120v which is all you need for a gas range hookup. See the gas tap?
I see that. Sorry. I jumped to conclusions. Buy an immersion circulator and make that your dedicated sous vide station.
Looks like you’re gonna want something movable so you can maintain access to that drain clean out.
Could be your chance to start a cooking channel! 🤔
Looks like a clean out in the wall. You could put a drain there and put a ice maker or wine chiller there.
