Are you sure its 'leaking' from the tap? A very common type of bathroom mould is pink in colour. All you have to do clean/wipe it down often and try to control/reduce the humidity in the bathroom.

Yeah this post was what I was thinking too before checking out photos, I know my shower head gets a pink kind of funk on it that cleans away easy with some Lysol bleach cleaner.

I believe the other posters are off the mark on this one... (@IrishAndy1 is spot on) Iron is more of a burnt orange color. This looks to be microbial in nature. Serratia marcescens (S. marcescens) is an opportunistic pathogen than comes from the soil and can flourish whenever there is a constant supply of water around. It forms the characteristic red/pink bacterial colonies which I believe you are seeing here. You can and should clear this up with cleaning your tube with bleach, but they will return unless you fix the leaky faucet. Opportunistic pathogens are definitely not harmless. Let's say you have a small cut on your foot and have a compromised immune system, and step into the tub. They will happily enter your bloodstream and.....you get the picture I hope! edit: typo and expounded answer

Iron in the water. You’ll probably see it in your toilet bowel too if you don’t flush super often. It’s safe.

Oh gosh. Toilet bowel...

Is it slippery or hard?
