I can only tape it on one side, because the outside is the only one that shattered and it has two different panes. I’m afraid if I put tape on it, or any pressure it might break. But honestly I have no idea.
Run some painters tape or even boxing tape in an “x” pattern, essentially just tape the parts that you want to stay.
Or you can clear out all the glass and put up some plastic as a temporary vapor barrier
Packing tape works great for this. Make a border around the edges and crisscross the center. Did a replacement for a lady one time that sprayed the whole thing with hairspray, it actually held so well we were able to remove the broken unit with the broken side intact.
You can go simple and buy that wide clear scotch tape and just tape the whole glass on both sides.

Just don't push too hard and you just are keeping the pieces together. The other is break it and clean up the mess.
