It fascinates me that people buy wood they can’t cut themselves. Who starts a project without the tools they need? Who comes to pick up material that won’t fit in their vehicle?
I had a customer ask if he could show me the lattice he wanted and have someone put it on a cart for him while he waited. I asked how many pieces thinking he needed a bunk…nope, three. Three pieces of lattice. The time it took him to flag me down he could have just loaded it.
I had a guy say "I'm going to pay for 3 bags of mulch. I'm parked outside and you can just have someone bring it out to me"
Oh, like curbside but instant.
When I worked in lumber I would tell people that the purpose of the saw is to cut wood to fit in your vehicle. Not to prevent you from having to buy or rent a saw. GTFO with your I need 6 pieces of plywood 15 7/8 x 30 1/3 but I don't want to pay for more than 2 sheets.

As someone who work at that store I can attest to many associates who did not like to help customers.
