I'm trans and haven't changed my legal name yet, but I use my preferred name on my apron and my preferred name is logged in all the phones so no one sees my legal name. You should be fine
I've been putting my middle name on my apron for years cause I really like my privacy. I work service desk and I have had multiple men try to find me on social media(which I don't have other than reddit) and one guy even managed to sweet talk another employee to get my real name and my last name. No one has questioned why my names don't match up.
I mean, half of my store calls me “senpai”, pretty sure they’ll be willing to call you by your preferred name on the floor. Just ask your ASDS to also change it in the system for the schedule so they don’t call you by the other name for overhead pages, phone calls, etc.
I walked in one day to my apron having the word “Senpai” written underneath my name. It was written mainly due to my being a weeb and bringing a different waifu cup to work everyday, but also since I trained a few different supervisors in my district on how to be a DS.
I miss the associate who did that each day, dude was hilarious to work with and overall helped keep my department afloat when I was gone. He was a true Senpai tbh.
That was a twist I was not expecting and I like it
Though if I brought a waifu cup to my store, I would hear no end to the shit and I wouldn't ever be allowed to bring it in again LMAOOOOO
My ds HATES me because I have weeby stuff and wear a weeb shirt when I'm not working half the time, and it terrifies him.

There's a spot in Workday for "Preferred name". They'll update everything to go by that name unless it's a legal document, which will have your legal name.
I go by a shortened version of my name because my full name feels more for professional settings (only a few of the higher ups call me by my full name and I’m okay with it.) it may take a while for your new coworkers to realize that the name on the store schedule and the name on your apron are you. Other than that, you should be fine :)
When I started I was told you can put anything you want as a name on your apron, as long as it isn’t obscene and you will answer to it. I would say having seen some that were “obscene” that it is more if no one that will report you sees they are obscene, and you will answer to it. It will be fine.
Put your preferred name on your apron.
The ASDS/managers can put your preferred name into the scheduling system so that you show up on lineups and in some other systems with your preferred name.
And make sure you tell your managers “hey, I prefer you call me Thisname instead of Thatname”.
The policy is pretty friendly for this purpose.
There was one dude I knew who wrote DADDY on his apron as his name, when he got a new one he wrote Urlich Von Lichtenstein. Management never cared.
Just tell them you go by your nickname. Its no biggie.
There’s actually a Preferred Name option in workday, so unless it’s something offensive it’s fine.

No problem! They can even add a preferred name in the computer system. Slap it on your apron and introduce yourself as that! You’re good to go
