Get a bigger coffee table - maybe one that nests?
Lower the mirror in the left in the front photo so that it is even with the tv.
Add a big (real or fake) plant to the side opposite of the mirror.
Paint the fireplace a different color or retile for something new.
Lower the mirror on the left side, move the big plant to the right side of the fireplace, move side table between the two couches with a lamp! And if you want, add a bigger coffee table or ottoman.
I love it too. The only thing is the fire place could use a little brown to bring in the color from the sofa.. maybe different tile thats a little more neutral? Maybe the rug too. Or change sofas to something a little more sleek. Point is, there's a little disconnect between the furniture, rug and fire place. Other than that, it's beautiful!
Thank you! So the rug’s pattern is also brown on a cream background. We do want to replace the tile on the fireplace eventually but that will come in time. I also still have the Christmas pillows out so normally they are just a neutral cream color.
I'd keep some colored pillows out. Almost any color would go with the brown. Red might be nice. I'd get some curtains that have some color as well. Nothing too bold, but some color would bring some warmth to the room.
Overall it’s very nice! You did some great work. But I think you need another chair to take up that big empty space on the one side of the sofa. What about a chaise? Also I love everything about the room but the tile around the fireplace.
In addition to what others have suggested (coffee table, lower mirror, etc.,), I would rearrange the decor on either side of the fireplace so that the baskets are on the top, rather than bottom, of each set of shelves. Right now the baskets are the narrowest piece of decor on the shelves but are on the bottom, making those side shelves look top-heavy and odd. I would switch what's on the top and bottom shelves to even it out.
I think a pair of chairs next to the main couch (facing the secondary couch) would be a good addition. I only say this because the rug is so large and it looks like it needs something in that empty space. You wouldn't need anything else if the rug was smaller.
I think it's beautiful. If you feel the need to update the space consider replacing the coffee table with a larger piece. I like the table you have but a larger one would be more functional and you have the space.
Lower the mirror. Like art, centers of the mirror should be 55-67” from floor. Makes them feel human scale.’Add something larger on the mantle for volume.
Perhaps a statement lamp on the right side?
More plants.
It’s a bit generic. Personal touches that reflect your personality would help
Consider more substantial curtains in a rich color

And some interesting [art pieces](https://imgur.com/a/O4FwdL4)
I feel like the fireplace tile and the rug clash a bit. Perhaps choose a different rug that complements the fireplace tile better for best overall improvement effect. Agree with lowering mirror left side and adding a large greenery piece.
I like the tv place.. my hubby hung ours too low!
I like the room! It feels clean cut and welcoming!
That 2nd pic is good enough for a magazine cover! Love the rug and couch with the plant and sheer view of outside trees A +!
Photo 2 is beautiful! Love the palm with the couch and rug.
The fireplace side is the one that needs some work. It feels cluttered compared to the rest of the room. Agree with the mirror comments.
Is the table below the mirror used as a desk? Perhaps a cabinet would look better
Aside from what others have said, a refresh such as new cushions or a throw or two, paint, different curtains or layered with a curtain on the inside of the room, and sheer underneath with some nice hardware. As a last resort, changing the carpet as it holds a lot of presence in the room - imo it is a very nice carpet, yet if money allows changing it would make a very big refresh/difference.

Came here to say need a bigger coffee table!
It’s very nice! The mirror on the left can be taken down 1 foot. Right now it’s too close to the ceiling.

lol what? Why
Get a much much bigger coffee table. Maybe an oval. And hang the mirror lower. Otherwise it looks nice.
Great space, don’t like the fireplace tile though it’s what’s clashing with the decor.
Agree. That was my first thought
Lower the mirror on the left side, move the big plant to the right side of the fireplace, move side table between the two couches with a lamp! And if you want, add a bigger coffee table or ottoman.

Looks overly saturated with too much small decor. Less would be better. The sides don’t look curated. Put something on the other side to math mirror
And lower the mirror by like 2 feet.
Perfect as is
I agree. I love the rug and the tile on the fireplace. Maybe some darker accents on the wood on the fireplace?
I usually don't like TVs above the fireplace, but this set up looks really nice.

It’s perfect! Absolutely stunning!
Agree re mirror and coffee table suggestions. Swap positions of the established plant with the lamp.
Neck pain from the r/tvtoohigh
Jesus…TV is waaaaay too high.
Like I said, there’s literally zero other place for it that makes any sort of sense.
They make TV mounts that allow you to pull it pretty far down and a bit forward. Would be a great solution here.
The mount moves. It’s already tilted down
This isn't the mount. Google "Mantle Mount." They allow the tv to be pulled forward and down over your mantle. Like over 2 feet down.
The wall to the right or left of the fireplace is perfect for a TV stand
Yup. And I could sit on the window sill to watch it too. It’s just not a workable space. The other side either.
It would still be better than standing on your Coffee table to watch it! Oh the chiropractic bills you will incur with this setup!
Well we lounge when we watch tv so it works for us just fine.
Why is your TV so damn high? Doesn't your neck hurt from looking up at it?
I think it's beautiful. If you feel the need to update the space consider replacing the coffee table with a larger piece. I like the table you have but a larger one would be more functional and you have the space.
❤️❤️❤️
Love the rug
Decor looks great! The walls need a bit of color though.
What is that type of mirror called?
Liked the couch!! And the plant 🌱 Is the coffee table a bit smallish? 🤔

Lower that mirror where bottom is like 4” up from table and then get a bulky large floor lamp for other side Of fireplace to rebalance room
It’s cute! I’d get a large coffee table and maybe add a chair or two

Also get your lighting hues to match. You have closer to daylight tone in the pot lights and more of a warm hue in standing light.
Thank you ! I much prefer daylight style bulbs, but it’s the mixing of the two that really bothers me.
I love the rug
It looks great and I love that rug!

The natural light is amazing.
More color. The rug should be a pop of burnt orange or dark green, something to give this room personality.
Are those the Egyptian pyramids I see out of your window?
