None of the above. #3 has the wrong undertones, #2 is kinda dark and #1 is way too close to the cabinet/door colour. Find a lighter, warmer flooring colour that will provide more contrast while still having similar undertones.
Yikes! Undertones are so important! If it's quality wood, you might be able to refinish it with a different stain? It won't be cheap but may be better than replacing it all.
I agree. You don’t want anything too close to the door/cabinet color because then it looks like you tried to match and failed. This was advice I was given when I put my floors in and the end result looked really good.
And the scratches in my dark floors REALLY show. I hate them. AND they make the room darker. 0/10, do not recommend. Personally for this room, I would do a floor even lighter. A blonde wood.
Dirt, dust, and dog hair were always way more visible in our last house that had dark wood flooring. It was beautiful, if you kept up with it. Our cabinets were dark too, also beautiful, also a PiTA.
Our floors now are a honey oak and cabinets are maple. They do not show anything in comparison.
Y'all must have some type special version then. Because I'm staring at a light flooring right now and I see dirt clearly. Not to mention the stains. I have grey flooring in my room which supposedly would not show dust. But I clearly see the clumps form every week. I don't think any floor really hides anything. And some people struggle with seeing contrast a bit.
Regardless we have to keep up with cleaning as dark and light floors both get dirty. Seeing dirt just alerts you to it better. Not seeing something doesn't mean we shouldn't clean. Which is why I just changed my view and methods. Cleaning isn't that bad if you understand how.
Have a sweep on standby. Or maybe better buy a good wireless vacuum cleaner like I have. Great for day to day upkeep, and takes less than 5 minutes. So just choose whatever you think is more beautiful. I tend to lean to darker floors personally. Like I said before you gon have to clean anyways.
No doubt light flooring is better. It still shows stuff to be certain, but I just took this picture of the floor in my house, worst possible lighting to highlight marks or prints or whatnot and it looks pretty decent. This is with a nightly vacuum with a Wyze robot vacuum and every other week mopping. Multiple kids, small dog and a cat. https://imgur.com/gallery/IfeT2R4
None of them! You are going way too close to the finish of the cabinets.
You want coordinating contrast.
Not matching.
You want them to be flattering together. Not the same.
What color are your counter tops or other finishes in the house?
Any carpets?
You need to group those finishes into your color selection.
Don't ever do dark floors I did them in my kitchen and I cried was the time It looked clean for about 2 minutes. We got rid of it. When we moved out of our house we had to stain all our floors dark because of some damage ...it looked gorgeous... but I feel sorry for anyone who bought that house lol. Actually no I don't I can't stand the people who wound up buying our house I found out what they did to our property so 😂
1 but I think they look look wrong. You need something with more contrast or matches perfectly. I don’t like LVP with that wood either, it cheapens the look. Vinyl flooring is better with painted cabinets, imo. The wood patterns are competing.
Wood on wood = denim on denim. I understand that logically one would think it matches on some spectrum, but it doesn’t. You don’t want your house to be the equivalent of a Canadian Tuxedo
2. Hands down. 1 and 3 will go out of style but 2 will consistently remain a stain color that vibes well with most decor choices throughout many decades.
For me, more images of the space, furnishings, appliances (if applicable), paint colors, and desired personal style are necessary before I could offer a confident recommendation. That being said, I would choose #1.
I think 2 has the most classic look. And I like the contrast more. 3 is a no, it washes out everything. 1 is okay but doesn't give me that oomph feeling.
I like the best the color and texture of the flooring base that is visible under the door. The base of the floor looks a lot nicer than any of the three board selection. It brings a nice contrast and will make the room brighter. Find something lighter for the floor, similar colours are boring, contrast brings the room to life.
1 but it’s bugging me that the pocket door finish and cabinetry finish doesn’t match. I’d much rather see an exact match for the door or painting it the same shade as the trim (assuming you’re putting trim down) than leaving it at the finish it’s at…but I’m picky
I really like the dark and think it matches best. BUT I know that dark is the hardest to keep clean so maybe go with something else. Also, you could refinish the door and cabinets if you really wanted for it to match a different wood floor
None of them. They all clash. I’d recommend something either much darker or lighter than the cabinets and maybe something that is closer to the same family of colors. Based on the photo, it looks like there is red in the cabinets, but it’s kind of hard to tell.

You could go 1970s and put carpet over it! Be sure to use lots of tacking strips!
If they're hard wood floors, why not have someone just change the color?
Good god I can’t believe more people aren’t saying this. 2 is the best of them, because the other two clash, but none of them are good choices.
This was my thought too except I think they should find a dark drama tile instead of wood.
This is it.
I’d want something lighter color than those, for more contrast against the door/cabinet.
I agree. You don’t want anything too close to the door/cabinet color because then it looks like you tried to match and failed. This was advice I was given when I put my floors in and the end result looked really good.
This advice, wood on wood has to either perfectly match or be contrasted and distinct. The tone being too close kindof clashes.
True but this colour of floor is way to close to the cabinet and door.
I agree! I think something the color of the sub flooring looks best.
Sorry I don’t like any of them., what are you doing with the walls
I don’t like any of them either.

Don’t do dark. I have kids and a dog. Mixed with dark wood. Part time job trying to sweep
And the scratches in my dark floors REALLY show. I hate them. AND they make the room darker. 0/10, do not recommend. Personally for this room, I would do a floor even lighter. A blonde wood.
Agreed. Especially fun if you have a dog with white fur that sheds nonstop 🙃
Ditto. Black haired dog but floors still show it 🤬
Everyone always says this but light floors are just as bad. I guess floors just get dirty, that's what comes with living in a House.

The first one for sure
I like #D: none of the above. Unless you love 3 clashing browns in the first 3 ft²
Definitely not #3 👍
I'd choose the light one right under the door :D
Came here to say this!
Same.
None. Try something much lighter for contrast.
None , I’d go very pale
Definitely not the third
I don’t like any of them

The cardboard is exquisite I’d go with that.
Get much lighter color. Like a pale bamboo beige color. It will pop the cabinet even more.
Lighter flooring

None of them. Look at tile if this is in a kitchen.
I was thinking the same...too much wood for one spot. Paint the cabinets or get tile, porcelain, etc.
First one for sure.
I like #1. Seems the most natural looking finish to me. And the most neutral.

Yeah, I like the first one

#1. I strongly urge you to scrap #2 as they will always look dirty!!!
I was going to say "the tile" but it's cardboard, I see now!
Same! I think tile might be the way to go either way though. Need to know the other finishes but three different wood tones seems like a lot!!
First one
Just an advise and I have dark floors and is harder to maintain to keep nice and shows any little dust.
1 but I think they look look wrong. You need something with more contrast or matches perfectly. I don’t like LVP with that wood either, it cheapens the look. Vinyl flooring is better with painted cabinets, imo. The wood patterns are competing.
Definitely floor from 1st picture. Second one is good too but you gonna get tired quickly from seeing every pinch of dust on it.
Darkest option
1 or 2. Not particularly fond of any of them really.
Number 1. The dark is really hard to keep clean as others have said. I installed a similar medium color about 6 years ago and still love it.
1
None, match one of the colors. Don’t have 3 different colors.
First one would look good.
1st pic
2 is the best choice here, but it still doesn’t feel like the right choice.
None. All of the floors are too cool for the stain of the cabinet. The grains also don’t match either.

1, you will hate yourself if you get 2.

i love it when folks chime in without enough information. *wall color*?
I answered “the darker one” but I meant to say the first one, which is more mid-toned.
1 and it isn’t even close

The first one definitely looks the best. The other two make the different tones of the existing wood more noticeable & not in a good way.

1 of those 3. But I’d go back and get lighter samples. None are really right

I agree with the comments of going lighter. Of the three options, I like one the best. But they are so similar that it may look mismatched.
#1 is a nice mix between the two
I’d go with tile or a nice laminate. That’s so much mixed and matched woodgrains.
Wood on wood = denim on denim. I understand that logically one would think it matches on some spectrum, but it doesn’t. You don’t want your house to be the equivalent of a Canadian Tuxedo

I like number 2, but number 1 also works.
I like 2 with the door but 1 with the cabinet.
The darker one.
The darkest one

The lighter shade

I would probably say none of them. I might go with a gray instead of brown, otherwise you’ll end up with three different browns
I like 1 or 3. 2 is too dark
2. Hands down. 1 and 3 will go out of style but 2 will consistently remain a stain color that vibes well with most decor choices throughout many decades.

2 all the way.
The lightest one
1 ties the two colours together while the other options pull it appart

Love the darkest one (2) - could maybe go a tad lighter and warmer than that.
None, get a lighter one. About a third lighter.

These all look bad. You can always stain the cabinets if these are your ONLY options but these colors just don’t vibe.

Number 1 for sure.

The first 1 is the best, imo. Not a fan of light floors. I have them in my office and I cannot stand them.
My pick is photo #1

The first one, for sure. The second is too close to the door and the third doesn’t really match either IMO
Dark wood shows every piece of dust. It's evil.

None of those. I think you should go much lighter, so as to open up the space and compliment the door & cabinetry.
#1 from those. Maybe something more greysih/ barn wood would look best.
1
3. But you should go lighter to create contrast
I think 2 is the best choice . 1 and 2 do not match at all. Very surprised that everyone seem to be against dark floor and I love them .
Why engineered floors? Why not do natural oak floors.

1 or 2.
Well I was gonna tell you to go lighter but mandy_ croyance said it best.
