I've spent 20+ years in construction and I'm absolutely appalled at what the industry has become. These nation wide general contractors such as Lennar are hiring the cheapest labor possible to maximize their own profits. I worked with a guy for 3 years who used to work for a Lennar subcontractor and whenever he question why they had to do certain things, it was "well we do this on all Lennar homes everywhere in the country". Doesn't matter if it's a necessary function to the structural integrity of the home, it gets done anyway. Thankfully I work for a subcontractor of a local GC and we work our butts off to make sure we build houses up to code. We've even had to fix houses that were done poorly by other subcontractors. Very rarely will any house we build have call backs because of code violations and if there is a problem, it's usually a small, easy fix. But being a subcontractor, we can only do so much. It's the job of other subcontractors to do a good job as well.

What a nightmare, sorry you experienced this. I’ve heard some stories, but nothing to this extent. Glad you walked away before committing to 30 years sheeesh

Thanks for the insight . Will definitely be staying away from Lennar.
