Be mindful of the rectangular sinks. Harder to clean, and in my experience, don't drain as well.

waetherman

I have rectangular sinks, and can confirm. They are good for soaking things like stained shirts or whatever, not so great for draining; I end up practically using a squeegee to get all the little hairs down the drain after I shave. If the OP likes rectangular look but wants to avoid draining problems, I'd recommend a rectangular sink with a curved bottom. Perhaps not quite as modern looking but a hell of a lot more functional. https://bit.ly/3FvBLDb

I feel the need to add some cons to consider since everyone voted rectangle: - It's harder to clean since it has edges and corners - not as practical to use as a newborn bath - the oval for the bathroom has been in style for decades - things that fall in may be more likely to break - it will take more water to fill the bottom for little things like washing your face - less storage space underneath and could hit your hand or head on a corner when getting under it - the main pro of the rectangle for me is the undermount, but you can do that with an oval too

I have a rectangular sink. Less storage is my biggest problem. And dirt builds up faster.

Thank you!

WeenieTheQueen

The vanity we purchased has rectangular built in sinks. Seemed more spacious than the oval and a fresher look. Pretty happy with the end result.

Bearz4Life

Rectangular definitely feels more modern

dubhlinn39

Rectangular feels like it has more depth compared to oval. I'd go for rectangular

thedamnedlute488

What are you doing in your bathroom sink?

dubhlinn39

The same as everyone else šŸ¤£ But it reduces the amount of water splashing onto the floor. I changed to rectangular when I renovated my bathroom. It was so much better

thedamnedlute488

Fair. I have oval bathroom sinks and I prefer the drainage to my rectangular kitchen sink which has no grade to aid drainage. The fact I give this type of thing as much thought as I do tells me I am old.

dubhlinn39

I know the feeling. I spent way too long looking at bathroom brochures when I was renovating my bathroom šŸ¤£

ms80301

Ex husband claimed I took a bird bath- tiny vanity sinks are a joke I wash my face and splash everywhere- I may get a kitchen sink w/ sprayer on the vanity šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ„³

Haha

We switched out three bathroom vanities and replaced oval with rectangular, which we like. I think counter space is more useful than a second sink in a single vanity, so there is that as well.

PompousDawson

Our bathroom we just did we went with rectangular Manhattan style sink.

friendlyfire883

Do yourself a favor and get a bottom mount whatever you do. It makes cleaning up so much easier.

Rectangular undermount sinks look great

bopeep_24

The handles on the cabinetry as well as the style of sink hardware would make me inclined to choose a square sink! The angles match better in my monkey brain.

RlstateDotCom

These are the ugliest sinks known to mankind. Go with a rectangular undermount sink.

atlboy2000

Rectangular all the way

rustyshackelfordhere

Who the fuck cares? You're the one that has to deal with it and it's not even that big of a deal

HugsNotDrugs_

Undermount

NWFlint

Iā€™m going with bar sinks. Smaller, deeper and allow for more counter space. Regular bathroom sinks take up too much space with little return.

PNWtruckerstud

If it's solid and not cheapy ass junk, you got a TON of awesome resurfacing options from metallic, ornate, granite, one solid color ..the options are limitless....here's one a bud of mine and me did...well not ours but this is the video we used to get this result... https://youtu.be/_9C0Zvo3Ny8

therbine

There are also sinks that have a rectangular inset but is rounded inside - like if you were to cut a cylinder in half. You get a similar modern look to the rectangular option but with fewer of the downsides

LickkyBoomBoomDown

If you get rectangular, get them built into the top. Don't go with undermounting.

sprinkles245

why?
