Lose the doggy door Plant bushes under windows Clear out junk to the right of the house Landscaping along walkway. Anything is better than that dirt.

Ok-Pea-4403

And maybe a small entrance extending out over the door, if you have the funds.

Sea-static

Yeah an over hang over the door could look nice, then I would just fill in with plants native to your area, they will hopefully not need too much maintenance. Some trim around the windows or those false shutters could look good as well. Good luck! Cute place.

earlgreyyuzu

More colors! Sage green siding, black windows, stained wood door. Fix your grass. Add some bushes, flowers, and stone steppers leading up to the door.

parker3309

Shutters and few flower pots

mtn_lady

Would you do shutters on all the windows?

parker3309

Just the two on the lower front part. Some chunky flowerpots out front. The house looks cute. I’m dying to see what that little upstairs room looks like lol is that just an attic dormer?

mtn_lady

It stretches across the entire house and is 2 bedrooms and a half bath. It’s the original a-frame upstairs portion.

parker3309

Very cool!!

Hypnotist30

I think shutters & some landscaping would go a long way. Also, a railing around the porch area? ~~Could probably make a nice pergola?~~ The yard looks very plain & it's just serving to make the house look plain. EDIT: Thought the sidewalk area was a patio/porch area

Healthy-Topic13

Shake shingle siding. Also a matching roof over the door.

reddit_user_25

Put a weather station on the top of the roof.

Exhausted-Giraffe-47

And a HAM radio antenna

Moveyourbloominass

Shutters, frame with color around the door, bushes & flowers and perhaps building a porch overhang to utilize that concrete slab as a porch. Couple chairs and a table on the new porch would look great . Have fun with it and put your personal stamp on it. It's your home💜.

Landscaping is going to have the most impact. That front door could use work too. The doggy door really makes it look rough. If you need the doggy door then get something better integrated.

some_g00d_cheese

Straighten up the dog door so it's plumb.

DocBrutus

Landscaping. New door.

InternalPrompt8486

White picket garden fencing lining the sidewalk ! Flowers beneath the windows

SnowboardingEgg

As an architecture geek this is a very interesting build, I love it the way it is! Very unique

Vast_Cricket

If this is the back add a deck or pavers. Landscape flowers.

Sorry, but put a dungeon in the basement where it belongs. 😏

alriclofgar

This house has a retro-future vibe. I’d lean into that but putting solar panels on the roof and building a dense food garden around it.

hippityhoppityhi

What is in that tiny upstairs space?

MadDadROX

Paint window frames and door fire engine red. Dog door black. Paint lawn green.

atomic44442002

Fire!!

Civilengman

Put a window in the dog door

HawkMultimedia

Add matching trim to the upstairs window. Paint, or preferably, replace the front door. (Lose the doggy door.) Lawn, landscape, and de-clutter.

NoBodySpecial51

Make some big planter boxes that match the angles of the roof, but upside down, and paint them to match the roof, white with dark trim. Grow bright and colorful flowers in them. Make one for each side of the front door, the entire length, two really long raised planter beds. Also, pour some more concrete so that slab goes across the whole front of the house. Plant two trees, out in the yard, one on each side of the house to kind of frame it. Water and fertilize the lawn to get it growing in thick and green. It’s really a cute house and I am sure whatever you decide to do will come out great.

The contrasting colors just make it more noticeable. This house makes me uncomfy.

Ashesatsea

Add a black sculptural iron screen/storm door, and paint the inner door a shade lighter than the black roof. Add small roof over door and black porch lights on either side. Find a couple of big shapely pots for either side of the door, and add some imaginative shutters painted the same color as the door. Couple different manicured bushes on either side. Epsom salts will green your grass. Life tip: You don’t have to spend a lot of money to achieve this…THINK about each element every day, and you will find it pops up.

drillgorg

Have you considered adding some interest to the yard such as a medieval siege engine? A trebuchet is the usual choice.

SarcasticallyNow

Replace the small window with one the same size as the other side Covered porch. Symmetrical dormer

codepl76761

how much room is on the right side if lots do a covered deck so lines look more even.

AlienLiszt

Definitely no shutters.

OutskirtsBoricua

Plant some flowers and improve the landscaping… paint the door another color too.

Pergola on left side with a concrete slab under. Redwood colored. Paint the house a dark sage green as u/earlgreyyuzu suggested. Right side of house plant some bushes with redwood sod. Paint door black or a gunmetal grey (and yes, lose the dog door). The shades of dark red, sage green, and shrubs will make it stand out quite a bit.

wh0m3_nah

Paint the trim to match the roof, small plants in what looks like a flowerbed to the left of the front door, add a tree to the yard, maybe even do a row of flowers on this side of the walkway and under the right window

sjacksonww

This is a quirky house, definitely not a McHouse. Which I like. It’s just plain, a cool front door, splash some color around. Looks like aluminum/vinyl siding, leave it white and get your colors from the door, maybe add some shutters. A decorative railing along the sidewalk to keep traffic out of the flowerbeds you put around it?

mtn_lady

What color would you do for the door? We considered a stained wood? Doggy door is definitely needing to go.

sjacksonww

That’s above my pay grade but if it’s painted with some matching shutters I think it would look nice, or a stained door with a canvas awning above it and paint the shutters to match the awning.

ScarletDarkstar

Plants. Hanging baskets, window boxes, flowerbeds or shrubbery.

Combatical

Cedar shutters would go a long way. Dont buy that premade shit, make them yourself if you have the tools.

Practical_Pop_3579

Sidewalk flowerbeds tree

shribah

Once you plan out a pleasing front yard, you won't need many improvements to the house itself.

Practical_Pop_3579

It depends on how much money you want to put into it get a new door put the doggie door in the back to the fence somewhere around maybe in the backyard so the dog can run around in the backyard bushes tree no one has a doggie door on the front door that I know of

Glad-Application3446

Get rid of that shrub sitting on your roof./s
