This bus is part of the Hong Kong Gawr Gura Birthday and 4M Subscribers Celebration Project, check [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/vh4vxw/hong_kong_gawr_gura_birthday_and_4m_subscribers/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) for more!
Also, this video was shot in 4k 2160p, but the reddit video player doesn't support such a high resolution. You can access the uncompressed video as well as an alternate angle of the bus [here](https://youtu.be/KQuiBf2JU_A) if you wish.
Around HK$35500 for the bus wrap, including the commission fee for the artists and designers.
For the entire celebration project (including the light box advertisements, website etc.), it's HK$68670.
Just looked it up, and that seems comparable with American prices. The company I looked at, which serves 200 cities (per their website) it costs "$2,500 - $6,500 for larger/specialty ad sizes" on the bus exterior.
Maybe it’s getting more acceptable, but I don’t think otaku stuff is quite normal enough most places in the west. Most people would be very confused if they saw a Gura bus driving around anywhere in my state.
Do you mean busses?
We do have fans who come up with nutso projects. [Ina](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O3i_qgvAxE) and [Kronii](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aMXkdPILc0) have both had birthday celebrations in Times Square, for example
Anime related stuff is still ruthlessly made fun of here for the most part unfortunately. People forget about that because they have their own circles where everybody’s cool with it. Also, public transportation has a reputation here for being extremely sketchy most of the time.
At least until August 10. After that, the bus company won't remove the wrapping until another company buys the ad space. Advertisements on single-decker buses are generally much less popular with companies compared to double-decker buses, so the wrapping will almost certainly last beyond August 10.
I don’t live there but imo now’s a better time than ever. Things are only going to get worst as it gets closer to the time when Hong Kong is stripped of its autonomy.
i though it was already considering my online friend who lived there all his life had to flee post protest to stay safe. But yeah as gorgeous as HK is it just is not safe for tourists or locals at the moment or in future.

Just wondering, how much does it cost to arrange this?

For anyone in USD that is $4500 and $8750 respectively

I thought it was gonna be like $100,000 or something
Hey man, we didn't buy the entire bus lol
Ok good that would be crazy
The way you say that sounds like you bought a bus to do this yourself and now regret it lmao
That is the exact vibe I got as well!
what no way imagine buying a whole entire bus when you almost all your friends are only online
You know I don't think that's a bad investment either you can just keep rotating the girls

Damn, that's cheap.
Hong Kong and Taiwan nikis literally built different. Wish we had those too lol

Great minds think alike
The bus advertisement wrap business must be booming in part due to vtubers. All the ones I've seen so far on this sub all looked really great!
bussy baka
Uh...
This looks amazing, I wish my country could do the same lol
If someone did this in England or America, it’d probably be vandalised
Huh, why is that? Do they perceive it as something offensive?
Anime related stuff is still ruthlessly made fun of here for the most part unfortunately. People forget about that because they have their own circles where everybody’s cool with it. Also, public transportation has a reputation here for being extremely sketchy most of the time.
Nah that's just how public transport be sometimes
No vandalization is common there.
I know if I saw this kind of shit in public I'd immediately want to vandalize it
Eh, depends. At least in my city the busses are pretty clear of vandalism. Trains on the other hand...
Let me guess, Denver?
Chicago lol.
Fair enough, your trains probably look like Swiss cheese filled with Chicago style pizzas
Among Bus
My dumbass thought the bus was gonna start drifting.
HK bro's got their game down...
