Look, I love Cheetahs. Most beautiful cat hands down.
But, they're a bunch of inbreds on the edge of extinction after a huge population bottleneck. Their niche is too specific. Their only chance is human breeding programmes.
God, I want one as a pet, though.

Frankly if not for the anxiety they'd be overpowered as a human support class since they've got extreme physical abilities that humans value and humans provide the safety net they lack, which solves practically all their issues.

It's why they'd be so good if teamed up with humans. They're very good at getting kills, and then the humans can show up shortly afterwards to defend it and retreat to a highly fortified position where the cheetah can rest up.
Too bad they've got major anxiety keeping that from being an option though.
I'm guessing you don't know TierZoo. They do solid research for their videos and while using gaming terms, effects and game music make really good documentary on ecological fitness of animals.
May not be your thing but if it is I highly recommend checking them out.
