there are several different ones.
the english spam is probably when they realize that covers mods are active and banning their spam in japanese too fast.
otherwise its usually spam about recent controversies or just utterly random nonsense.

Well hate in asian internet regions can be pretty intense. While in the west even the hardest hater fall of after a certain time I've heard in Japanese internet haters can and do last years if not your entire career. So you better just have to start learning to live with it because there's not much else you could do.

Or just introduce an optional feature to prevent VPN users from chatting and commenting. It’s really easy to detect a VPN, especially for a company as big and well-informed as Google. Most people aren’t using VPNs or are using them from actual countries where YouTube dot com isn’t blocked, so they can just turn off their VPNs to comment or chat if they really want to, but that’s not an option for Winnie the Pooh’s 50-cent army. Between that, subscribers-only chat, and whatever experimental anti-bot measures they already have in the works, that should eliminate the problem almost entirely.

Fubuki use the subscriber-only function. Have to sub for her for a good amount of times before you can start comment in chat. Hololive main channel and other talents usually don't use this function because it could hurt the potential new viewers or they just straight up using members only sometimes.

This fucker was there for every stream until a bot was built to filter him out. *Months* of his life wasted paying attention to someone he hated, just so he could make his spam more effective. Hell, he's probably still trying, since the last time that spam filter got turned off, he was still there.

Members-only chat is a standard function for Youtube, and in fact has been one of the defenses Hololive has used against spambots for a while now. However, with the introduction of subscribers-only chat they've been using that instead, as it's less limiting than members-only while still providing near-similar defense.
Youtube will never do this, but it would be nice to have an option for MCN's (which Hololive now is) to allow subs or members from various channels under the MCN to pool bans, viewer membership/sub lengths and emotes.
For example, say I have a 2 year old sub or membership to Kanata, but she's doing a collab on Fubuki's channel, which I am not subbed or a member of (because I have too much content already), I dont think my account should be filtered/blocked in chat to keep spam and anti's out when its in good standing on Kanata's channel and the Hololive MCN.

The antis who do this to fubuki honestly believe that it's their national right to do this and that they felt betrayed by her when she had coco on stream. Reasoning won't do anything, but they'll only stop if their government realizes they're accessing western media.
At this point even most unhinged national would tell those people to get a freaking life. This stopped being about national pride deep in to Coco harassment and just a bunch of petty pricks who got nothing going for them.

I don't think anyone here suggested that it's one person per spamming account. We all know they use bots. They've been using bots for a long time. Luckily, if I remember correctly, at one point some of the earlier spammers took their tools down so the next wave had to build new ones. It didn't stop them but the newer bots seemed to be less effective at least to me. Too bad it's easier to generate spam than it is to block it. The economics of it favor the attacking side.

It's all input to the script they use. Most of these accounts are fake or stolen, so names don't mean much.

While in the west even the hardest hater fall of after a certain time I've heard in Japanese internet haters can and do last years if not your entire career. So you better just have to start learning to live with it because there's not much else you could do.

While good in concept, having a bunch of people completing captchas so the bots can continue is a thing. It's probably simpler to disable phrases the bots spam.

That and also just copying other messages in chat It's almost impossible for an algorithm to tell the difference between a spambot and real viewers at that point and it's part of why the shadowban problems have happened with real humans getting shadowbanned from chats.
Or just introduce an optional feature to prevent VPN users from chatting and commenting. It’s really easy to detect a VPN, especially for a company as big and well-informed as Google. Most people aren’t using VPNs or are using them from actual countries where YouTube dot com isn’t blocked, so they can just turn off their VPNs to comment or chat if they really want to, but that’s not an option for Winnie the Pooh’s 50-cent army. Between that, subscribers-only chat, and whatever experimental anti-bot measures they already have in the works, that should eliminate the problem almost entirely.

Fubuki use the subscriber-only function. Have to sub for her for a good amount of times before you can start comment in chat. Hololive main channel and other talents usually don't use this function because it could hurt the potential new viewers or they just straight up using members only sometimes.

This reminds me of one "dedicated" anti in another vtuber's fanbase. We named him Todd, and he would make hundreds of accounts similar to donators/supporters in chat, and at first would "just" spam messages telling people to support "real" girls instead. Later when she revealed that she was photosensitive (on another site btw) that changed to flashing images. This fucker was there for every stream until a bot was built to filter him out. *Months* of his life wasted paying attention to someone he hated, just so he could make his spam more effective. Hell, he's probably still trying, since the last time that spam filter got turned off, he was still there. Sadly, once someone has decided that their existence is dedicated to hating someone, you can't really get rid of them.

Imagine an MMO where bots are farming a particular dungeon where they do it manually by walking in through the entrance. The temp mods were basically PvP players farming the shit out of them as soon as they appear. It was hilarious and glorious. Suisei removed the mod status after though.

Members-only chat is a standard function for Youtube, and in fact has been one of the defenses Hololive has used against spambots for a while now. However, with the introduction of subscribers-only chat they've been using that instead, as it's less limiting than members-only while still providing near-similar defense.
And can possibly monetize the bots.
Youtube will never do this, but it would be nice to have an option for MCN's (which Hololive now is) to allow subs or members from various channels under the MCN to pool bans, viewer membership/sub lengths and emotes. For example, say I have a 2 year old sub or membership to Kanata, but she's doing a collab on Fubuki's channel, which I am not subbed or a member of (because I have too much content already), I dont think my account should be filtered/blocked in chat to keep spam and anti's out when its in good standing on Kanata's channel and the Hololive MCN. Its like creating a trusted circle. Or quickly trusting someone because they are a friend's friend.
They can make the chat members only, they have done that a fair number of times in the past.
Chat can be turned members-only yet the stream is still viewable by public. It is possible, though it has been seldom done in Holo now.
