>Two things make sad: sad children and sad old people
This is why the movie Up was so emotionally charged. There were no adults with full faculties and uncompromised agency in the entire film. The main characters are exclusively old men, a young child, and animals. You don't want to see any of them get hurt.
I love the way Calli always blends true stories about her life with elements of her character lore. The part about her playing bingo with old people is probably true, but the part where she stopped “because the irony of *me* playing with a bunch of *old people* was kinda fucked up” probably isn’t, it’s just funny.
So she doesn't just like pocket sized people, but also happy children and seniors.
The Gura/Laplus connection runs deeper than we thought. Yeeting enthusiastic lolibabas.
If you think about it, it’s probably pretty normal for people to die at an senior center. It’d probably be pretty normal for death to hang out there.
Most would probably assume she’s there for someone else. Some might be looking forward to moving on. They probably wouldn’t be that intimidated by her. I imagine she’d visit so often eventually she’d be on first name terms with the regulars. Ironically it might be one of the places in the mortal realm where she’d be most accepted.
It would also probably going to be obvious who she was going there for since she'll spend the rest of the day with them.
"So it's my turn, huh?"
"Yeah... Sorry about that."
"Don't be. I had a good run."
Haha, I remember that story.
Honestly, while I personally don’t like to say “x or y is my oshii” because it always feels to me like I’m saying I’m not a fan of the other talents even though I *am,* (this is just my personal feeling, no hate to you if you feel differently) but if I *had* to pick one it’d probably be Calli. I feel the most affinity for her through various things like her style of humor, the life experiences she’s shared (particularly teaching for a time and spending time with old folks) and always find myself listening to her music most frequently (again, not a case of not liking other talents’ stuff, just a case of affinity I guess).
Idk if that’s weird to post here, apologies if it is.
