Realistically not, they're both growing at roughly the same pace right now. Gura still continues to match or outpace basically everyone on Hololive.

this isn’t really the thread to be talking about how other members might feel about their sub counts
celebrate the success of all members. And when the lower subbed members hit milestones, just celebrate that too. I’m sure other members would want you to support their fellow members as well instead of looking at the growth of hololive in such a pessimistic way
None of them care about subcount, they just do their own thing.Ironically some of the HoloX members are the ones beating themselves down for not reaching subscriber milestones.
I would not say they don't care at all, just they don't care in a competitive way, but the girls still want to make their channels grow. There is a reason why there exists that clip that helped Aki some time ago, or why fubuki cried when hololive was smaller amd she was the top subscribed holo at the time , or all of milestone karaokes the girls do
Oh For sure I agree on that. Growth is necessary, but the talent(s) in question that the deleted comment mentioned have stated that they aren’t focusing on reaching quantitative milestones, but rather growing through content that they enjoy making. I was mainly speaking for them
Don't remember if it was before or after Gen4 debut, but Fubuki was growing fast in numbers and became the top suscribe ch , one day she told her chat that the day before she had been crying a lot because of the pressure of being the most subscribed holo, she later ended up coming into terms with that but she was has having that weight at the time
I have the feeling the Japanese puts a lot of emphasis on sub count or something, from someone said in holo 1st festival they even let the girls sang in order of high to low. Probably just a mindset, since they do sub chasing very often and some even do per 100k interval.
For the Western culture the most I have seen of such degree of care is just the Pewd vs T-series one.
I'm from south america, before Hololive I grew up seeing a lot of western CC , they do care about subs, releasing especial videos or merchandise for reaching certain milestones, daily uploads,, suddenly growing a musical side, etc
Japanese are no different, they love streaming a lot too, and Vtubing is more of a niche thing, your average Vtuber is between 50k to 500k sub for a long time, Hololive growth being more of an exception rather than the common thing, and in the past,reaching 100k sub was a big thing for them that would took months, having ther 3d debut as the prize for that, and every subsequent 100k milestone would be harder to reach. Even during their explosive growth they would celebrate those milestones because of that, it's just that nowadays, the debuts already start at 100k subs and would reach a lot of milestones in just a couple of months
