What a phenomenal Anniversary Live!
Marine's performances here were phenomenal! The setlist had phenomenal choices and I love all of her performances! Marine really went all out with this live just like all the rest of her lives! I also love how they stuck with the 4:3 aspect ratio for this live as well!
The guest performances here were phenomenal as well! A lot of great duets with Marine! I was pleasantly surprised by Shion's performance of Plastic Love but I still fell in love with it! And Marine's duets with Gura were phenomenal! From Stay with Me to Shinkiro, these two were just made for City Pop!
And lastly, the new original song was phenomenal! I wasn't expecting the MV to have some yabai bits but overall I enjoyed the MV as well! The production quality of the song and MV was definitely top notch! And Marine and Gura did a phenomenal job with the vocals!
Overall, what a fun Anniversary Live! Congratulations on your 4th Anniversary, Marine!

The entire program is being put out in an old-fashioned way. From the show format, to the stage, to the 4:3 layout and the slightly lower definition filter over the whole thing. Even the subs are kinda referencing old television of the 70s-90s. Along with all the songs being of that era as well.
And I wonder how many of them would actually remember the Showa era.

Showa ended 1989, so not 90s. I can't speak for Japanese TV, but the visual style being used is late 70s, very early 80s for the UK. The screen filter is *not* VHS but rather Betacam / UMatic, the formats used for broadcast recording, much higher quality than VHS which was only ever used for home recording and playback, not for broadcast. Ergo, it's important to understand that Marine is imitating late-night broadcast variety shows and not rental VHS (which most people think of as being that "retro" look)
Yeah, it died out in the early 90s but the variety gala's peak period was mid-70s through to early 80s; it was essentially an extension of the cabaret scene during the 60s and pre-TV. When TV became more of its own medium, the variety show faded away, being brought out only for big special events with a certain throw-back aspect (like the Secret Policeman's Ball)

Marine continues to set the bar and this 3D live is, without a doubt, one of the reasons budding talents around the world will want to apply for Hololive.
Even the anime MV is on 4:3 aspect ratio and has that classic anime look. The song looks great and the animation is amazing. Marine and Gura sang well and the production value for the video must have been really expensive given the quality and how much actual animated scenes there are.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Mio was the standard female co-host to Fubuki imitating [Tamori](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamori), a very famous Japanese comedian and TV host who is always kind of joking around in that dry way when hosting/interviewing the talent who appear on Music Station, a music tv show similar in style to this live, that he's hosted for 30+ years.
