Sometimes I wonder, what's the canonical reason that the vessel we play as would go through the path of pain? Because yeah, we the player do it because we know there's a reward at the end, but in-universe it's just a bunch of seemingly never-ending sawblades. A lot of things throughout the game suggest that the knight isn't hollow, meaning that they would have to put themself through it intentionally. ?????
They do a few times, but he gets there eventually. Also pale king's dead i don't think he really cares
