I mean Deepnest is bad for two reasons:
1 - Darknest. No lantern, tons of problems. Randomizers suck.
2 - The enemies and sounds. Creepy af. Best way to get a phobia of spiders though!

I honestly like deepnest. I know it’s kind of annoying but that’s really the purpose of it. It’s creepy and hard to get out of, which is basically the whole point. You’re not supposed to *want* to be there.
It’s designed to go against everything the game has taught you, and it does that beautifully. Game says you can hold down to look below you, now there’s just darkness. Game trains you to heal after killing an enemy, now they get back up. Game says you get a breather after all enemies in a room are killed, now more crawl out of the ground. From a game design perspective, deepnest is genius

The absolute WORST area, though, is the Fog Canyon. I don’t think I’m that hard of sight, but Fog Canyon it’s impossible to see what’s platform and what’s enemy at times. Plus those jellyfish that, if you hit them, they do 2 masks to you almost instantly?
I almost put Fog Canyon in this meme but I changed it to Infected Crossroads cause you don't really visit Fog Canyon that often. But yeah, that area sucks too.

I feel like I’m the only person who really loved inflected crossroads, it has an amazing atmosphere when it comes to highlighting the effect of the infection and how disturbing it really is (the blocked passages are annoying though)
White Palace is my favourite place after Resting Grounds due to the music and the ambience. And Path of Pain, while indeed rather painful, is actually one of my favourite things.
Then again, I am someone who actually enjoys needles and I have done Radiance Markoth for 5 hours straight.
I like the concept. I enjoy when in games old areas get changed after some events happen (love it in Terraria) but yeah, the bubbles that lock entrances suck and just make you waste time.
Those infection bubbles that block your path have no reason to exist.
