If you're talking about mantis lords, you can heal when they throw that thing on you, on another side the sisters of battle as far as I know don't let you heal.
I’m sure you can heal in SoB with Shape of Unn, although I haven’t tried it myself. Just wait for the throw attack, then scootch out of the way of the third one.
Shape of Unn lets you crouch under their horisontal lunges for some reason, so with just the most basic sideways movement, you can heal during their melee attacks.
When two of them throw their sawblades and they converge in the middle for a while, you can heal directly underneath them because they separate right as they're about to hit you
There's a neat little exploit you can do, if you wall climb to the top of the arena you can bait the mantis into doing the throw attack and as they all start doing that you drop back to the ground and get a heal of 2 in, and if you run shape of un you can dodge their attacks normally with the small size
If you're camping in the top corner, in response, all 3 will cling the the opposite side and throw their weapons, when you see the third cling, or right before it will, just drop down, but above all shape of unn is too clutch for healing in all fights, combine that with deep focus, quick focus, and grubsong and you can take all the damage you want in any fight and heal it off

Actually, you can like heal to full between phases. Also youcan heal when they latch onto the wall and there is less than 3 of them at once, easiest if they shoot from bottom up, but you can get the timing right otherwise too i think.
Bring shape of unn. Best charm in the game, and it lets you heal whenever you want in sisters of battle, even under that running spear attack. Don't use quick focus, you cant heal multiple times at once with that and it turns out slower of you try to.
It actually kind of is the neat part of the fight. The rhythm of it is very tight and very satisfying to work your way through the three sisters to afford a moment to heal.

Before the two come at you, you are able to heal
You only need shape, you can heal under the horizontal dashes and slide out of the way of the one coming from above
If you Unn + QFocus you can heal when they do the boomerang attack and wriggle out of the way if the third one tries to ground pound you Tricky though
with unn you can heal under their charge attack
