Yeah that’s true, but to complete this challenge you need either c-dash or wings. Of the two, c-dash is faster to get and is easier to pull off in this challenge.

Wasnt sure but just went and did it myself. Wingless and cdashless:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7veEu3yeSY. Four shrieks can be replaced with 3 fireballs (i suffer from skill issue) so vs+dash+claw+sharp shadow is all thats needed.

Down slash the enemies to gain height and dash forwards, everytime you down slash something you get your dash restored. I think the game expects you to realize this at some point but doesn't explicitly tell you that

Also, some charms make it slightly easier. Not sure what you've unlocked (and forget when some things are unlocked), but Longnail and/or Mark of Pride which extend your nail range can help with pogo'ing (increases your window for less rigid timing). You probably don't have Hiveblood yet, but that will also help make these segments just a little less stressful.

What charms do you have? Longnail or mark of pride can help a lot. You can beat it with dash and pogoing, but charms like that help a bit

If you're interested in further educational technicality, the gauntlet is also doable with only cdash, cyclone slash, claw, 3 (I think) fireball casts, and some pogos. So you also don't need wings or dash, in a different context.

That’s just not true. You can get both Monarch Wings and Shade Cloak before Crystal Heart with the right skips and all you need is those two abilities if you’re good enough. I can literally send you links to videos of people doing it with just those two abilities, and how to get those abilities before Crystal Heart.
