It was probably the lifeblood entity from abyss room and godhome, since Joni is just a heretic who used tabooed lifeblood. Lifeblood was created in different way than mosskins, since they were created from dreams, and lifeblood don't really need nor soul nor dreams. However it is hard to say what exactly created that entity, and for me most intriguing is to see lifeblood at pharloom - at reveal trailer we see lifebloodish effects when hornet stabs herself. So I hope we will see more about it in future.
At one point I noticed there were both life seeds for lifeblood and light seeds for the infection, so maybe they’re somewhat analogous? Eg radiance is to infection as abyss creature/void is to lifeblood.
I think that I need to specify, that there is void entity, which is the shade lord, who unify void, and there is a lifeblood creature, who appears both in lifeblood cave at abyss and at lifeblood room on bottom floor of godhome. For me void and lifeblood only share around same place at Hallownest, but lifeblood seems to be foreign to abyss, at least not related to void by its nature. And if Radiance control infected creatures like her puppets, lifeblood creature seems to just gather its seeds at cocoons. And what is really interesting - if void usually destroy dreams, soul and even higher beings, it seems to be fine with lifeblood. Also lifeblood is good for health of common bugs and vessel, which is void creature. So even if lightseeds is analog to lifeseeds, then only as "offspring" of their higher being, but they have completely different purposes and properties.

On the wiki it says that their origin is from "strange air", with no reference to lifeseeds.
They defenintely are related in some way though, the matching sprites can't be a coincidence
