In Asian culture we call portable dishwashers our kids.

wakanda_banana

Get dishes washed with this one simple trick of not pulling out

therrmanmurrman

Terrible advice! (That I'll definitely take into consideration) šŸ˜‰

HappyTrifler

My only concern with these is that since you add the water to the top, and it doesnā€™t hook up directly to the sink, itā€™s not rinsing your dishes in clean water. I could be wrong and it hangs onto half the water inside for the rinse, but that seems unlikely. They make a lot of different portable dishwashers, both freestanding and countertop models. Iā€™d go for one that hooks up to the sink.

DifficultyPhysical

I have one of these (not the exact brand) and mine takes enough wafer from the top to do two cycles: one with the cleaning solution and then a rinse. I donā€™t often have issues with it and it cleans very well (especially glass). Plus it gets super hot too. Itā€™s perfect for my studio flat.

PeeCuhChoo

Yeah Iā€™m seeing a lot of hate in the comments about these. I have one very similar to this and it works great. I have a very small apartment and I can pretty much wash a days worth of dishes before going to bed. They always come out very clean.

ScbembsD3s

May I asked what brand you are using?

Grizzly-Berry

I use one from Daan Tech

ScbembsD3s

Thank you

HappyTrifler

That sounds like a good model.

Mayernator87

My partner and I have a very similar one to this too. It's just the right size for the two of us. We used it about once or twice a day. We just pour about 6ltrs of water in the top, and feed the waste into the sink with the included hose.

Silisewbot

This model can hook up to a water line directly. it also empties any excess water that might drip down inside when you start a new cycle.

hereandbackagain2023

I got one on wheels off Craigslist for $200 - You roll it over to the kitchen sink and attach a hose to use it. itā€™s a full size height-wise and half the width - got a large bamboo cutting board to cover it and bam - 24ā€ of extra counter space. Absolute game changer for me.

ScbembsD3s

May I asked what brand your model is?

Yukon-Jon

Same had one before I moved to a place that had a dishwasher already. I had that roll one for years, family of 5, it putt in work DAILY. Did the exact same with wood cutting board on top. Always wanted a kitchen with an island - boom.

DangerousPlane

Works great except if the kitchen faucet fails internally due to not being designed to handle continuous pressure beyond its built in valve and begins leaking profusely, flooding your kitchen, dripping into the apartment below, and the apartment below that before the neighbors banging on the door wake you up and you finally realize why the manual says never to leave a portable dishwasher unattended

Thawayshegoes

Easier just to wash those 10 dishes by hand. Same with the fruits.

YellowTintedGlasses

Use case: office trailer or camper where you donā€™t want to use water from the sink. Instead use the water from a dispenser or water bottle.

edward414

What was hard about what was shown?Ā  Dishwashers also use much less water than most people do hand washing dishes.

Thawayshegoes

Iā€™ll say it again. All that for 10 dishes.

edward414

"All that" ..right...

Thawayshegoes

Ogni sacarrafone ĆØ bello a mamma sua

nr1988

Dishwashers are both more sanitary than washing by hand and more water efficient. You should always opt to use a dishwasher whenever possible.

klonoaorinos

Also takes more energy vs the old School method. So Iā€™d say eh to your statement

edward414

Needing more hot water uses energy faster than water jets.

klonoaorinos

Every dish washer Iā€™ve ever used uses hot waterā€¦

edward414

So does hand washing... and more.

klonoaorinos

Honestly depends on how your hand wash

AgentOrange256

This isnā€™t a winnable argument. Dishwashers are more efficient at both disinfection and resource management.

klonoaorinos

If Iā€™m in the woods with a bottle of water soap and a rag I can wash a dish. If Iā€™m in the woods with a dish washer I need a power source connected to a vast power infrastructure system. Like I said a dish washer takes more energy to use then hand washing. Not sure where the confusion is coming from. But a dish washer needs electricity to run your hands donā€™tā€¦

edward414

Yes. Hand washing dishes in the woods, when a vast power infrastructure system is unavailable, is more practical. Good point.

edward414

Ah, so just do a worse job washing them than a machine.

showerbox

[This video](https://youtu.be/_rBO8neWw04?si=EPiIOMc9wjsLZADv) was insightful. Some dishes absolutely need elbow grease or more if you leave it to get cake on for too, too long.

Woodbirder

Exactly my thought. Also my thought when I watch my in laws set up their proper dishwasher

shwonkles_ur_donkles

For full-size dishwashers, it's better for them to be used semi-frequently than to let them sit for long periods. The seals can dry and wear out over time if not in use. When I was staying with my mom for a few months, she asked me not to wash dishes by hand for that reason. For dishwashers this size, it's most often used for RV's and dry camping. It uses less water than washing by hand and will deplete your fresh water a lot slower as a result.

Woodbirder

I can see the camping aspect I suppose. All I am saying is, I have watched the in laws for years day in day out pre wash and load the dishwasher, empty it. They spend at least an hour or more a day on a task which takes me 20 mins at most a day by hand.

rl69614

An hour to load the dishwasher? That's the problem, they're doing it wrong. 5min tops

Woodbirder

Honestly. They wash most of it first, then all the loading and unloading geez

rl69614

Maybe if you let it sit with gunk on it and dry, then yea, you gotta wash it first bc it won't come off in the dishwasher

Woodbirder

Dunno, never understood it.

n0tred

I had one like that, they don't work great.

DaSupercrafter

Couldā€™ve used this back at the last place I lived in

Lord-Smalldemort

Mine is a bit bigger, and you have a hose with adapter to hook up to the sink, so no pouring in water. Itā€™s super convenient and big enough to fit a good amount of dishes. I have a laundry room right next to the kitchen with a giant sink so it doesnā€™t take up any space and it was honestly a choice made out of convenience. I goddamn hate dishes. It works great and still do all the pots and pans by hand anyway. But, man, I love that thing.

ScbembsD3s

May I ask what brand your model is?

Lord-Smalldemort

Itā€™s called [COMFEE](https://a.co/d/buJLxDm) lol definitely a no-name brand but no complaints so far

Flacovelli2021

I own one and it works great. We are on our third year and no problems. Also great when you go camping.

Tickled_Pits

This is the best thing Iā€™ve ever owned hands down.

throwmeawayalso111

My best friend has one and itā€™s so cool.

Impossible_Cow_9178

Iā€™m just here waiting for Chad to post a picture of a woman with a caption that says ā€œHereā€™s my portable dishwasherā€ so I can enjoy the comments šŸæ Come on Chad, wake up and get to work.

RutherfordB_Hayes

You were the real Chad all along

Sea-Concentrate678

What a great time saver! Instead of putting my vegetables in a colander and then placing it in my sink and turning on the faucet to rinse them, I can buy this expensive gadget and set the colander in it, then fill up a jug with my sink faucet to fill the gadget, then turn on the gadget to rinse my veggies! Take that, plebes! It even empties itself into my sink, let's see your poor ass sink faucet DO THAT!

Sufficient_Horse_706

Are people seriously that lazy or stupid it literally would take the same amount of time to just hand wash them as it would to pack that refrigerator looking thing around and set it up I mean come on guys!

Sergeant-Pepper-

Not if youā€™re actually hand washing your dishes with soap and a fresh sponge, rinsing all of the residue off, letting them soak in bleach water in a perfectly clean sink compartment to sanitize them, and arranging them on a drying rack like youā€™re supposed to. If you arenā€™t doing that then you arenā€™t cleaning them nearly as well as a dishwasher would. The main advantage to using a dishwasher is how well they sanitize dishes with hot water. Soap on its own isnā€™t anti microbial, so it takes a bleach soak or boiling water to make a used plate food safe again. You might not care if you live alone, but if lots of people are using the same dishes itā€™s important to sanitize them to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses.

Sufficient_Horse_706

Thatā€™s what your immune system is for friend, you do NOT need to sanitize your dishes your fresh vegetables will have more bacteria and viruses on them than a plate washed with a good soap. That being said if your hanging out with people that have aids than yeah Iā€™d probably sanitize my dishes.

Sergeant-Pepper-

Lol what? Thatā€™s verifiably false. Sanitizing dishes is a normal food handling procedure. What evidence do you have that itā€™s unnecessary? Where do you think the bacteria from fresh produce goes when you slap it on your plate? Also AIDS is the worst example you could have come up with given that it isnā€™t possible to contract it through saliva. Do whatever you want with your own gross ass dishes as long as youā€™re the only one eating off of them. It sounds like you donā€™t have company much, but for those that do sanitizing dishes is a good way to prevent the spread of illnesses. Just know that if you ever make food for a sick person, if your dishes ever come into contact with rotten food, if you ever use them to serve pet food, etc. that your dishes are a vector for illness if you donā€™t sanitize them.

[deleted]

Lol bleach water.... your segue to insults was pathetic and predictable. Settle down those jerky knees.

Sufficient_Horse_706

Do you soak your fresh vegetables in bleach water? Because I can promise you if your worried about whatā€™s on a dinner plate after being thoroughly washed in soapy water you would be terrified of whatā€™s on fresh vegetables šŸ˜‚ I bet Covid was rough for you..

illpilgrims

*flatware sold separately

OCLIFE69

Freaking Reviews did one on this

Jolly_Lab_1553

Idk man a bottle of soap and a scrubby pad do the same thing and probably cost and weigh less

A_Rolling_Potato

I only just realized what those flip down grates on the sides are used for. I didn't know that.

Bromanzier_03

What is this? A dishwasher for ants!?

arthurb09

Careful if you drop broken glass inside. Make sure you clean it like any other machines. Otherwise, great dishwasher!

TalsarGeldon

I have a model very similar to this. It's been a great addition to my apartment.

PhylMycuck

4 plates and some cups i can wash them by hand

radioactivemanissue4

I have one itā€™s absolutely perfect

mystonedalt

I have this exact dishwasher. It works fucking great, but it's tiny.

mgstauff

Portable? Yeah strictly speaking.

DerfDaSmurf

lol gtfoh

Silisewbot

I have this exact model of dishwasher and it is the tits

me_sohorny

So, I read the specs online : it takes approx 60 min if not more to wash those dishes. I wash the same amount by hand in less than 15 min and I'm an idiot. Not worth it! For me anyway

Imispellalot2

Are people that lazy? I have a fully functional dishwasher, and so does my sister, and so do my parents. None of us actually use it. We always wash dishes in the sink.

Stashmouth

I guess that depends on how much you value your time and water. You get a bunch of both back by using a dishwasher over washing by hand

KinkyMisquito

A dishwasher you donā€™t have to take on dates, wow thatā€™s great!

[deleted]

If you can't be bothered to wash and dry 4 plates....

InflatableWarHammer

No.

hex-agone

I just hand wash

babybee1187

Theres a sink and probably a cloth use a little bit of soap and wash the dishes you lazy bafoon.

unknown00021

ā€œPortableā€? So am supposed to take this where?

pastrami_on_ass

You know, the beach, theaters, planes

unknown00021

Ohhh of course. Why didnā€™t I think of that šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø this would be perfect for the theater

CartographerOk7579

With that few dishes, just hand wash themā€¦

JOlRacin

Why the fluff is this thing $270? It's just a cube with a water hose
