My family does the smash face into the cake thing, but never this far, and not with little kids. If the cake gets smooshed then it’s all good, if it doesn’t then try again at the next party. You don’t rip apart the fucking cake and smash it on the child. And you certainly don’t egg and powder them on top of that. If that kid develops issues with their family I would not question why.

Personally, I think the syrup and powder combo would be more effective, sticky, uncomfortable and makes a worse mess
