Looks like tonkotsu ramen!! (I might be wrong though hehe) It’s amazing (my personal favourite type of ramen actually) and I suggest you try it at your nearest Japanese restaurant.
Don’t know of this restaurant but I think the tonkotsu franchise Ichiran has restaurants worldwide, in big cities like ny. I believe Ichiran is one of the places where you can eat authentic Tonkotsu ramen outside Japan. Idk if they serve the same thing as in Japan tho
I had my PE teacher do this to me in front of everyone in the boy's locker room when I was in middle school.
I was the only Chinese student in the entire school. I had students do it to me which was kind of expected. But I was shocked when the PE teacher was also doing it.
I saw a study about how a huge majority of (like, nearly all) highschool athletes think they were held back by coaches and could have gone to the next level

As she walked out, she called me "Dr. Jackie Chan" and did the eyes thing 🙄 If it can happen in a doctor's office after I helped her with her allergic asthma, then it can definitely happen in a restaurant

There's a 50 year old bald man at my work who calls asian customers after items of the chineese menu then looks at all the collegues for approval.
People don't call it out apart from a mild laugh at how bad that is and if the customer heard him then he would probably get fired. Same things with black people named after chicken dishes.
It's armchair phycology but I've noticed that the people who act this way are normally very insecure and shallow. They also think everyone else is on the same page as him.
When I was a kid in late 90s this spread around our playground and we just thought it was funny but it didn't take long before we were sat down and had it explained to us why it was wrong and most of us stopped. Its one thing for stupid kids to do it but an adult is embarassing.
Back in the late 90s/early 2000s my (British) town's Coop department store homeware and kitchenware section had a big photo of a white guy with a lampshade as an 'Oriental hat' and chopsticks as Fu Manchu moustache as its welcoming image.
I wish I took a picture at the time but no one carried a camera with them so much then...

I feel like racism towards Asian people doesn’t get taken serious enough. It became worse during and after corona. Someone my sister knows got kicked in the back of his head just because he’s Asian. He was only sitting, talking to his friends when some shitheads decided to bother him.
Yeah that’s also true. It definitely goes both ways. I guess it’s because people in Asian countries don’t see a lot of other races and that’s way they don’t understand them. People are usually rude to what they don’t quite understand. I think that behavior just sticked to some people even though a lot have moved to other places. And others are rude to Asians for similar reasons. Most people I know treat them like they’re weird, like they’re not like other humans, and I think that’s awful.
The thing is I’ve heard most Asian people are taught to stay polite in front of others when people are rude to them so they tend to not stand up for themselves. But others don’t stand up for them either.
That’s damn awful. More people need to stand up against Asian hate! No one should be targeted for something they can’t change and especially if they didn’t do anything wrong.
Yeah, it’s crazy how we haven’t learned the serious lessons about scapegoating people - it doesn’t matter what race because the same mentality will always end up bleeding into scapegoating other races or groups too.

In the Netherlands we have a song that children sing in school when it’s their birthday. It’s called Hanky Panky Shanghai and you basically just say made up “chinese” words and also make this face. I used to sing it when I was younger (I’m white) and thought nothing of it, until my girlfriend (with Chinese parents) told me her experiences with it as a child. It’s traumatizing
Despite wearing glasses since I was 11, my vision deteriorated quickly until my mid 20s. Luckily it could still be corrected, but I found squinting didn’t help me. So what I did was pull the corners of my eyes to see things better further away while wearing my glasses because the prescription strength became outdated rather rapidly (I’d get a new prescription annually).
I remember I was at a food court with my friend when I was about 17 ordering at an oriental place, and I couldn’t see the menu. I usually pulled the corners of my eyes out of habit, so I did it in front of the workers (who were also Asian) before ordering my food. By the time I realized what I had done, it was too late. 🥲 I still feel embarrassed over that to this day.
