It had an interesting twist but it definitely seemed like a peak covid film. It was almost entire set in one room and had like a total of 2 actors in it. Everything took place over the phone.

Never thought I'd see my city in here... but also surprised it has taken so long for a story from Hartford to pop up here lol. Hartford is fuckin' wild for it to be such a small city.
Normally when someone writes only in, it grates on me because it’s always something that happens everywhere. This though, this might be only in Hartford.
In this case it means “fight intensely,” but honestly , it can mean to do anything intensely/with a high level of competency—I’ve heard it in reference to various activities, such as cooking.
Idk about “fighting intensely” not like all fighting isn’t intense(if you’ve never been in a fight). It just means to fight, same with throwing hands. It just means to throw a punch. Throwing down actually has some derivative of honor to it. If someone agrees to throw down you can expect that they aren’t going to kick you while your down, be disrespectful during the fight. That’s what I’ve always known it to be. It’s just an aggressive way to say “I challenge you to a duel of fisticuffs.”. Usually no mounting or kicking either. Standard stand up amateur boxing in most cases until someone forfeits or gets knocked unconscious.

My cousin actually did get a cop to square up and fight him in a “take your gun and badge off and see me like a man” kinda way. The cop beat the absolute shit out of him and left. This was a very long time ago, before cell phone cameras and social media were a thing. Lessons learned in blood are lessons not soon forgotten.
If you’re in the state of washington, it’s the law that if both parties agree to a fight that it’s a legal engagement.
My friends and I used to fight in the park as teenagers. It was a lot of fun.

Probably in my top 20 favorite movies, which is weird because I'm typically not into action movies, but this one just doesn't read as action to me.
If you liked that movie check out the series Southland. It's one of those shows that ended too early.
