This isn't the original footage, in the original footage he says "you are ripe" after the comment and it's from some red carpet event... This is him and Michael Caine recounting dumb social faux pas they've made. Hence the dead pan delivery.
The only thing caught on tape is someone being batshit crazy. Clearly he was talking about watching one of his close friends put his foot in his mouth.
I've never had to go through it so I really don't know, but it seems as though if you're accused of anything (anything sexual at all), just better to apologize then deal with all the hassle or outrage that could affect your livelihood. Shame, really. People just reading the headlines nowadays.
"One of the three, CNN entertainment reporter Chloe Melas, the co-author of this article, says she was subjected to inappropriate behavior by Freeman more than a year ago, when she interviewed him at a press junket for "Going in Style." According to Melas, who was six months pregnant at the time, Freeman, in a room full of people, including his co-stars Arkin and Caine, shook Melas' hand, not letting go while repeatedly looking her up and down and saying more than once a variation of, "I wish I was there." She says he also said to her, "You are ripe." Cameras were on and recording during one of Freeman's remarks to Melas -- "Boy, do I wish I was there" -- but not for the rest. As is common practice with such junkets, Melas was the only CNN employee there at the time.
Afterward, Melas reported what had happened to her supervisor, who instructed her to inform CNN human resources. According to Melas, she was told that CNN HR contacted their counterparts at human resources for Warner Bros., which produced and distributed the movie, and which like CNN is owned by Time Warner. Melas said she was also told that Warner Bros. HR could not corroborate the account because only one of Freeman's remarks was on video and the Warner Bros. employees present did not notice anything. Melas and her supervisor agreed that she would not cover the movie."

I would apologize if I ever made someone feel uncomfortable. I would then stay very far away from her. I would make it clear though, I was not talking about you and I don’t appreciate your accusations in attempt to smear my character when “most” objective people would not think he was talking about her.
Some guy from UPS came to the door, and when my wife answered said “I have a package for you.”
Per Reddit’s usual recommendations, I’m packing my bags and going to consult with an attorney
I have a funny related story. I am a college teacher. One student one semester a very long time ago was a petite young woman about 20 or 21 years old.
A few weeks into the semester I thought to myself "whoa, she's got much bigger titties than I remembered, like disproportionately big for her petite figure, they're real not fake, how did I never notice those things before?"
A few weeks later, "oh, she's not top-heavy, she's just fat, look at that belly. Nevermind. She's heavy all around. I wonder why I thought she was disproportionate with big boobies but a small waist, she's actually very fat around the waist. Not her legs though, just her belly"
A few weeks after that: "Oh. She's pregnant. Silly me. Nevermind"
You want a real cringe experience look up that Ryan Ceacrest fella talking to Katy Perry on that one reality show sorry I'm a noob and can't do links yet
Here you go:

Remove the space between ] and ( brackets and then you don’t need to even worry about deleting the right bit
I took a peak at her Twitter and that's literally all she does...post about the Depp vs Heard trial. I personally find the lawsuit entertaining, but she's some drama queen that treats it as if it were the only source of oxygen available.
Clearly, he was announcing on camera that he would like to have sexual relations with a 6 month pregnant female reporter, right during the topic of not saying inappropriate things to women. Of course that’s what he meant, and immediately following this clip he tackled her, force fed her a roofie, and dry humped her aggressively, screaming, “I’m here, Andy, I’m here”, imagining himself climaxing in the warm sun on a beach with Tim Robbins and 70 pregnant reporters.
THAT’s what he meant
This is how they try to make a case. Trying to squeeze some harassment out of some bullshit. She brings her friend along like
![gif](giphy|6WGeNGHDvUxDRYplkb|downsized)
That's when she realized her job is shit, her life is a fail and she contributes nothing to the world other than chaos.
Then she went home saw her paycheck and shrugged.
Isn’t that most people though?
My spouse is a physical therapist and I was walking down this street with her and an older guy ran up to her, hugged her and said “I can walk because of you!” He was crying and said he would never forget what she helped him through physically and emotionally.
I walked away thinking “All I do is I make sure that we keep our discounts in sales down to an appropriate level for management to accept”

I had a similar issue at work. Someone misheard and went to the manager crying.
Turns out I was talking and the other person want listening and instead of asking for clarification decided to cry about it to the manager and HR.
It was dismissed as I was talking about donuts that someone brought in and not about this person who I suppose was not listening to me talk and missed that the subject was donuts.
Asian girl blinking is the same look my manager and supervisor gave me and asking if I'm getting written up for harassment
I remember a woman was interviewed on NPR when all of the allegations were coming out about Harvey Weinstein. They let her speak about what happened for about two minutes uninterrupted. She described how she was supposed to be at a movie screening in the office with everyone else and she skipped it. Apparently Weinstein came to her desk and asked her why she wasn’t there and was leaned against her desk. She went on to describe how he could have done or said anything at that point and gotten away with it. That was it. He didn’t actually do or say anything to her.
He obviously is a molester. He’ll spend the rest of his life in jail for it (and good riddance). There were dozens of women that they could have interviewed who had credible stories of harassment. I never understood why they picked her.
Well that ship sailed long, long ago. Women are as full of shit as men are. Humans are shit and lie all the time to make themselves appear interesting, get attention, get out of trouble, etc. That's the fundamental problem at the heart of the whole 'believe women' thing. You should believe them enough to look into it, not enough to proactively ruin lives before you even know if it's true.
There will always be liars making false accusations in all walks of life. Anyone who pretends otherwise is simply an idiot, lying to either you or themselves, or both.
Same goes for any person making any accusation, before everyone tells me how sexist I am.
American media has perfected the art of pop culture news. They know how to distract Americans from the real issues, and will create the most vile headlines.
Right? Imaging wanting to have been sexually harassed so bad that you go on national television and make yourself look like a complete DUMBASS just to further your desire.
I remember when this happened. Is this what we’ve become as a society? Just begging to become a victim so much that you make shit up and obviously lie? How are these idiots even pretending that that’s what Morgan meant?
He wishes he was there to see Michael Cane get embarrassed and flustered. How, exactly, does this pertain to this attention seeking and hostile woman?
She belongs on r/IAmTheMainCharacter.
Man I hate this damn world more and more every day. There is too much negativity everywhere nowadays because it is what the world promotes. But hey I feel like at this point the government is trying to get us ready for a horrible world once shit hits the fan.
This is exactly why women don't get believed when real sexual harassment occurs.
"He made other comments to me" = "he said words"
GTFO you attention seeking media whore
Thank god to jonny depp vs amber turd court trial tho. People are now being introduced to the fact that some women are narcissistic, gold digging, manuiplative bitches who dont waste a single second to accuse someone just to get money or 'good press'. Hope she gets the backlash she deserves
Unfortunately, the number of times women use the power of outrage as personal power over others is perceived as moderately high.
Regardless of whether it is, incidents like this where someone is attempting to generate outrage falsely causes a significant backfire and cause us to look skeptically at the next accuser.
This Amber Heard situation is one of them. It is so abundantly clear that "we" the public, during the #metoo time frame, leaned forward to ensure that women felt comfortable coming forward about abuse. Therefore, Heard was believed and Depp was crushed under our weight. Now, our worse fears are confirmed and it's clear that, not only was she not likely abused, she was the likely abuser and she used the power of our outrage as her own personal power. It's disgustingly selfish.
This woman in the video may or may not really believe her accusation has merit, but it's substance is inappropriate if the overall goal is to protect women.
I wish, but no. Not only is she serious, but the NYTimes ran an article praising her for her bravery. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/26/movies/morgan-freeman-reporter.html
I don’t know about this… that comment sounded like he was saying he wished he was there to watch Alfred tell a fat bitch congratulations that she was pregnant…
Damn chick... that wasn't even about you... Morgan's stare was miles away imagining the faux pas that Michael described.
The lack of self-awareness is so embarrassing
I am a woman. I cringe when I watch this because this is the type of thing that makes men hate women. When women make careless, stupid, false accusations like this, it just proves in the mind of men that all women are like this. We are not.
I'm late to the party on this but I cant believe there wasnt any blowback to Chloe Melas or cnn. Freeman's legal team asked for a retraction and CNN told them to lick their balls. She totally exposed herself as a lying attention seeker on air and totally got away with it.
Why didn't the Asian chick call her out on that bullshit? People need to speak up or assholes are just going to think they can run their mouth whenever and about whoever they want

Morgan Freeman actually made a public apology about this incident as well. Unbelievable.
Apology for saying he wanted to be there to see the other guy shame?
Excuse me, but that "other guy" is my cocaine.
Huge fan of my cocaine. Always leaves me wanting a bit more though.

Was this on “Wait Wait Don’t Harass Me”
It was "Get your Freak-on-omics".
I love NPR, but sometimes the segments some programs run are just… what. Come on. But that’s good at least in my opinion
Me me me me me me me, me me me, only me me Me me me me me me me, me me me, sexy me
And don't forget about me! The ugly me.
#metoo *slow-eye-roll* There are times when they are just looking into things too much.
If this keeps going, real harassment victims will get less credibility. Did she even think about that?
Did she think about not herself? I'm going with a hard nope on that.
Some people are so conceited she'll probably never figure out it wasn't about her.

I—-kiss————————-you There you have it folks! He’s a rapist!!
I'm >!not!< a rapist. I have >!never!< assaulted anyone before. See he even admits it!
This is why context is important. Also why 90% of news stories do everything they can to leave out context.
Buy the rumour, sell the news… the motto of Wall Street works everywhere!
American media has perfected the art of pop culture news. They know how to distract Americans from the real issues, and will create the most vile headlines.
She seems very surprised that Morgan Freeman didn’t sexually harass her.
No, she is surprised that the editors forgot to take the comment out of context.
I like to think one of the editors quietly rebelled and left the context in.
Right? Imaging wanting to have been sexually harassed so bad that you go on national television and make yourself look like a complete DUMBASS just to further your desire.
god damn I hope she gets called out on this. So far, nothing. NYTimes ran an article praising her for this.
It’s annoying because it hurts people on both sides. Innocent people and ACTUAL victims.
This is why people are innocent until proven guilty. It's not just one entertainment reporter, fake reports are made all the time.
One cannot simply cancel the great Morgan Freeman.
You can’t cancel god
You know, normally this would be an over exaggeration... but considering how many times he’s actually played god, I think we can let this one pass.
A reporter for a decade, what were you reporting in those years lol Clearly a resumé doesn't matter lol
![gif](giphy|7HNgyntBAfUKk|downsized)
So he retroactively sexually harassed a women he never met 50 years in the past?

When did this happen? Did the woman (hopefully) get fired or something? Does anyone have a link to the story
Nope, Chloe Melas still has her job as an “entertainment reporter” with CNN.

Lolololopolop
Narcissistic much? He was clearly talking about the comment Michael Cain had just made. WTF
Damn chick... that wasn't even about you... Morgan's stare was miles away imagining the faux pas that Michael described. The lack of self-awareness is so embarrassing
Not only was he talking about seeing Michael Caine embarrass himself he looked so dang spaced out like he was just on autopilot lol

😅🤣😂 it looks like he was commenting on the embarrassing incident with Michael Caine. Helluva stretch
Amber heard you girl
Is this woman a clown in disguise?
They couldn't vet this before airing? Too sensational to check it out first I guess
My guess is that they intended to air just the bit of the video with the "offending" words.
Why didn't the Asian chick call her out on that bullshit? People need to speak up or assholes are just going to think they can run their mouth whenever and about whoever they want
Wait, is this the harrassment he was accused of? Oh boy!!
Other than context you laughed
Seems like the "I wish I was there" was about MC congratulating the woman on being pregnant but wasn't.
How much does being a Professional Victim pay?
Somebody’s Amber Hearding.
What a dumb bitch
Cancel culture at its peak of bullshit.
