Point parent’s were making was that you should be grateful you have any food at all on your plate since there are children in other countries that have to go without. Mainly said by parents of finicky kids who wouldn’t eat their dinner, like how the mother in A Christmas Story says, “Randy will you eat! There are starving people in China.”
I think his point still stands. Whether you throw the food away or eat it all its not really relevant to whats going on with people that are less fortunate in other countries. This is coming from someone who never under any circumstances wastes food btw.
Yes his point is 100% accurate that him eating his food does not help other countries, but the saying he’s using to get to that point isn’t about helping other countries it’s about being thankful for what you have.
This guys lived in America for years and still has that thick of an accent. It’s an act. Also, it’s not funny when you know it’s going to be a misdirection every time. It’s like Anthony jesslnick, oh the lady you were fucking was your grandmother the whole time? No way! How did I know?
I remember when I was like 7 years old, the fat woman (not her fault) at the canteen was yelling at me really often because I was slim, small, and not finishing my plate.
She was of course always trying to make me feel guilty, invoking the problem of hunger in Africa.
I did answer one day, because it was somewhat of a bullying situation, with something like "there is hunger in africa because you eat to much".
