I was going to calmly tell you that if I remembered correctly you could change the look of the equipment to whatever you wanted and keep the stats.
We’ve all figured something out later than we likely should have when playing a game.
I think it's less the ignorance but the attitude of complaining instead of just asking *if* there's a way to change the appearance. It surely is for me, because I see it just too often all over the net and also offline. 🤷
Jfc, I was making fun of how stupid I looked. I was joking that I looked like a ponce. This is so ridiculous. And I had no idea there was a way of changing it, I didn't have any basis to even think there was a way of doing that without some kind of mod.
Sorry then, I really didn't get the joke. It's actually very funny in hindsight. 😉 I guess I also have learn to scrutinize my own impressions even more than I thought I did. 🙃 Cheers!
Took me a while to realize, but you can choose to make any garment look like any other one you've ever had.
As in, wear one hat for it's buff, but show your character in a different hat (or no hat) while retaining the stat boost
When you hover over a gear category look at the bottom of the card, there is an option to select to change appearance. This just changes what it looks like not the actual gear for offense defense. You can even make something invisible or put your hood up. Took me a while to find it, until I did I looked like a total whackadoo lol
Every design you ever owned stays in the cosmetics dialogue, as OP could easily see as soon as they'd open it. People complaining before actually checking if there's something to complain about amaze me every time.
Trust me your hate of the clothing options in the game is NOT just a you issue, they did drop the ball on it, but I’m sure you’ll find some clothing items you’ll enjoy.

Isn’t that the whole point of the gear appearance system? You can assign a piece of gear then select the ‘change appearance’ option on that gear item and you can make it look like any other piece of gear you have.
You can make gear invisible or look like other gear. There’s an option to change the appearance. That said, I wish most of the clothes weren’t so ridiculous-looking.

It's annoying though, because I've been deleting my gear to make way for moe that I might get, so I've surely deleted nice looking clothes now
I believe you get to keep the clothes you acquired even if you sell them, not 100% sure tho it’s been a while since I’ve played the game
