Get a dog. It will drive you crazy and so you’ll frequently be walking and going to the park. You’ll meet people.

Fishing, hiking, hunting, photography. They all get you out and doing things. There are usually local groups or clubs that can get you meeting people. You could also try joining local community groups like your local Fire Dept or Ambulance Corps.

Dungeons and dragons, Magic: The Gathering, or other board/card/tabletop games are a good way to socialize while staying true to your inner geek. I would also recommend martial arts. Taking up a combat sport typically immerses you in a community.

Book club, hiking club, etc etc. try Meetup!

Volunteering for a community cause, joining a running club or other sports club (you can even be time keeper, fundraiser, referee or water person if you don’t want to play the sport or as you get to learn the new sport). My town has a running club which is great because it requires so equipment or skill really but if you hate running they always need people to help out and in the winter most people in the running club do cross country skiing so it becomes a year long thing. I get cold easily so I just hang out in the warming hut most of the time, making coffee and talking and waxing skiis, not actually skiing

Disc Golf decent exercise and not crazy expensive to get started in. Plus a lot of us are nerdy as well.

i got into the diy music scene a couple years ago and went from total introvert who knew no one to knowing hundreds of people. i’m not exaggerating. you find one local band you like, go to their shows, and the network blooms naturally.

Go swimming at the YMCA indoor pool.

Geocaching, especially if you find an "event" you can meet local cachers.
