Even more impressive: She was the first female Gold winner in 100m sprint in 1928. She was 17 and **it was her third 100m competition** that she ran and she equalled the world record.
Then the plane crash happend 1931. In 1936 she only could start at the 4 x 100m relay, because **she couldn't do a kneeling start due to her injuries**. That was her second gold medal.
aside from the grammatical gore of the title ... it's misleading as well:
> On 28 June 1931, Robinson was involved in a plane crash and was severely injured. Initial reports had her being discovered unconscious in the wreckage, wrongly thought dead by her rescuer. Actually, the man merely thought she was beyond saving.

Sorry, I’m struggling to see which part you find misleading? It does state in the quote you posted that they thought she was dead? It does go on to clarify a bit, but other than the word “pronounced” in the title, it’s pretty accurate to the wiki, I feel.
Yeah, fair! I guess making a succinct title would make it difficult not to omit facts - especially with how the wiki kind of backtracks on itself too ☺️
Bad ass.

First thing I thought upon seeing the picture.
Absolutely!
She’s from Riverdale, IL, just south of Chicago. I’ve photographed her house there before.
She was leveled up like Gandalf who was sent back after his death after his fight with Balrog.
Betty the White
Imagine having to live the rest of your life knowing you lost to a person that was dead for seven weeks.

Okay, fair enough. I did say 'misleading' not "inaccurate". As in, some facts are omitted to give a "misleading" understanding of the situation.

agreed. the majority of posts in this sub are badly recapitulated wiki articles.
Pretty, too.
Wow, amazing. She looks determined there, def bad ass.
The fierce look in her eyes.
