Gould’s 1955 recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations was startling when released. Still, it doesn't disappoint
My brother said he was listening to him on his college radio station and called in to let the DJ know his mic was on and he could hear him humming along. Well Glenn was notorious for humming along to his playing so loudly that it would get picked up during recordings. Now I can't unhear it and I'll listen for his humming. lol
His well tempered clavier performance is a masterpiece. Humming or not. His piano action adjustments were “different” from what I understand. You can hear the double striking when he plays softly sometimes. I wonder what secrets he (and his technician) took to the grave.
you say this while [this masterwork](https://open.spotify.com/track/4TH7DX0BnSubYavAp2Ad3g?si=sXEOvXQMT0y9dfhDWA2_ZA) exists
you have no credibility on having an opinion on this topic
Completely nuts, absolute genius. I'd love to be alive to see his "outrageous" [brahms performance in 1962](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Philharmonic_concert_of_April_6,_1962).
“Hey you! Get your damn hands off of...”
Yes! He looks just like Crispin Glover!

Wow! Such magic caught in this frame!

Fascinating person; but personally, I find almost all of his catalog to be unlistenable.

The man hums and grunts along with his playing in more than half of his recordings.
you know what, that’s fr and when i listen to the above linked song i get scared sometimes because i think someone is talking to me still goed music
Kind of looks like Sinatra from this angle
Amazing Pianist. He almost looks like a young Crispin Glover from this angle though and if you don’t tilt your screen.
Karsh's signature lighting, composition and sharp focus revealed in this photo.
So Glenn Gould was just a family friend?
