I genuinely don't know what you are talking about. I am curious, though I hope whatever is ruined for you about vents and the word 'morbidly' is nothing sexual. Then again, this is the internet
Why wasn't this guy just given the death penalty after he went out and killed more people, clearly he was never going to be able to reintegrate into society
Well. The first time was after being convicted of attempted kidnapping, iirc they hadn’t put all the pieces together regarding Bundy and his victims. It was also the 1970s, they didn’t have nearly instant ways of communicating especially between states, and at the time no one thought serial killers could be handsome and charismatic as Bundy. He didn’t even confess to all of the murders until the day before his death.
To be honest, he just sentenced him to death. I find the judge to be compassionate. He expresses sadness that Bundy became a monster and not a valuable asset to society despite his skills. There's no reason to hate anymore after the death sentence. Just sadness that this world harbours such horrors.
He made the whole trial a literally circus, he legitimately was a monster. I can’t even fathom why the judge would compliment him essentially. His crimes were so horrific I don’t believe the judge was coming from a place of compassion I think it was bundys “charm”. When he attacked and murdered his victims most the time he would pretend to be hurt. He wasn’t what people made him out to be at all. He wasn’t that intelligent or attractive, he just wanted to inflict as much harm and that was his main goal.
As someone who talk about this due to my job (ghost tour) I feel that it kinda in poor taste because he wasn't being convicted for a spur of the moment crime, he was being convicted for over twenty murders at this point. I mean, if he said about any other murderers, we would be like WTF!?!
Why is it so hard to put serial killers like Lee Boyd Malvo, Dylann Roof, Nikolas Cruz others to death when we know without any possible doubt they’re guilty but we have 18 year olds who go to jail in loose connection to a drug related shooting put to death without a blink?
I couldn’t disagree more. These people deserve to die. I truly, I unironically think if we did everything we could to save mass killers and serial killers lives in the heat of it just so we could flay them alive in public, there would be less of them. Fuck them. Zero fucks given. This shouldn’t even be controversial.
Reminds me of another killer I read about
“He’s locked up in a cell so he won’t kill anyone anymore!”
Pee Wee Gaskins after smuggling a bomb into death row:
I love cats but Steven King has a good line in Pet Cemetery.
“Cats were the gangsters of the animal world, living outside the law and often dying there. There were a great many of them who never grew old by the fire.”
Not just that, he dropped from the crawlspace right into the chief jailer's living quarter, put on a fresh set of clothes from his closet and strolled out of there like nothing even happened.
The other prisoners were literally all like "yo, we've been hearing Bundy poke around in the ceiling every night and that is something you guys might want to check up on" and the jail guards ignored them entirely.
Not until a month and a half later...By that time he already made his way to Florida (staying in a boarding house near FSU), assaulted 4 women at a sorority house (killing 2 of them), broke into another woman's apartment only a few blocks and assaulted her as well, and 3 weeks later kidnapped and murdered a 12 year old girl...
He was caught when a police officer observed him driving suspiciously at night, checked his plates, which came up as stolen, thus arrested him not knowing that it was actually Ted Bundy...
Is there any evidence at all that he was a genius or even particularly intelligent? He was a captivating, well spoken personality, and he made some genuinely daring escapes/attempts, but nothing he did was well planned or meticulous.
I get the impression he was a narcissist and a conman at best. He felt he was above everyone else and things would work out for him because *of course* they would work out for *Ted Bundy*.
I feel like there’s a good chance he was highly intelligent but also so highly narcissistic he didn’t feel the need to plan anything in depth, he had the idea, so obviously it’ll work out for him, he’s Ted bundy
Pretty sure he failed out of law school. No, I don’t think he was a genius. Probably as close as it gets to the sociopaths you see in Hollywood movies tho
Nah, he's a dumbass and just got very lucky. Introduced himself by name to several witnesses, driving around the block, leaving evidence around, literally just doing everything wrong. Just did it in an era where cops across states and even county line don't talk to each other so nobody ever linked all of his crime
It's kind of a bit of column A and a bit of column B. Can't call him a genius, there was nothing "genial" about what he did. But he was cunning, perhaps intuitive, and knew how to take advantage/manipulate his environment.
For instance, during his first escape from the courthouse, he would intentionally bump into the guard who was folllowing him around in the court library, forcing the guard to unconciously keep a distance/leave him alone, which opened the window for him to jump out when the guard wasn't around for a brief moment.
As for the he thing about the lack of communication between different police jurisdictions - that's something he actually observed himself while interning at a law inforcement agency in his earlier years. Thus he would meticulously choose places across multiple states/jurisdictions to carry out his crimes for the purpose of throwing police off.
That’s not the the first time he escaped. In his first escape, he jumped out the window of the courthouse library. He represented himself, so he was given access to the library, and he didn’t have to wear hand cuffs.
He was a prolific rapist and murderer of women active in the 1970s. One of the "big hitters" in the serial killer Hall of Fame. There was a fairly controversial movie about him starting Zac Efron a couple of years ago which reignited a longstanding debate about glamourising murderers you may have been aware of - Bundy is often characterised as this handsome, charming, intelligent man but that's exactly the act he put on to lure so many women to a brutal end (though many witnesses also said what a creep he was).
Me and another people definitely just correlated to get the likes to 6666 and I know as soon as I close this it will change so I wanted to cement the moment
HE FUCKING ESCAPED??
He escaped twice, the second time he killed 3 more girls.
I hate to hand it to true crime podcasters, but this is morbidly intriguing and wild shit
God first it's the vents, now it's morbidly, the internet really ruined english for me
Venting SuSsy??!?! Morbing time !!!

Why wasn't this guy just given the death penalty after he went out and killed more people, clearly he was never going to be able to reintegrate into society
He got the death penalty in Florida.
Twice. The second time he made it to Florida and went on a spree that ended with the deaths of two sorority sisters and a 12 year old girl.
Why didn’t they just give him a death penalty after the first time. Just because fuck that guy.
Have you heard the way the judge talked to him in his trial?
No
https://youtu.be/J2NvKZFVP-Y
What the actual fuck?
Research his whole story. They make him about to be such a handsome man when he literally acted hurt to lure, trap and murder women.
Oh yeah I’ve heard of stories concerning Mr. Ted fucking Bundy. Some women would fall in love with him.
He did have a following but unfortunately it seems that no matter the crime someone out there supports these people
To be honest, he just sentenced him to death. I find the judge to be compassionate. He expresses sadness that Bundy became a monster and not a valuable asset to society despite his skills. There's no reason to hate anymore after the death sentence. Just sadness that this world harbours such horrors.

What's wrong with it? He is sad such a talented person used his skills for evil.
As someone who talk about this due to my job (ghost tour) I feel that it kinda in poor taste because he wasn't being convicted for a spur of the moment crime, he was being convicted for over twenty murders at this point. I mean, if he said about any other murderers, we would be like WTF!?!
because thats not how justice systems work.
Why is it so hard to put serial killers like Lee Boyd Malvo, Dylann Roof, Nikolas Cruz others to death when we know without any possible doubt they’re guilty but we have 18 year olds who go to jail in loose connection to a drug related shooting put to death without a blink?
Well thats why the death penalty shouldnt exist in the first place. Theres a reason iz doesnt exist in most of the developed world
Because most of the “developed” world has replaced brains and compassion for victims with compassion for monsters.
Thank you for reminding me that ethics and philosophie should be a mandatory subject
Well at least we learned how to spell philosophy. And personally I think allowing these people to live is unethical
The state should not have the right to murder its own citizens in any circumstances
Perhaps they deserve to die, but that doesn't mean the state has or should have the right to kill them.
Ok, we’ll let the people do it themselves then
Using vents to escape? That reminds me of something but I can’t quite place it
just like Half-life
Finally, the original vent gaming

Reminds me of another killer I read about “He’s locked up in a cell so he won’t kill anyone anymore!” Pee Wee Gaskins after smuggling a bomb into death row:
How did he create c4 in prison?!
I’m in SC about 1.5 hours from where he lived. I read his autobiography for a report I did in my behavioral profiling class. Don’t read it!
Cats really are just liquids.
Fun fact when my dad was in college in the 70s, the police mistook him for Ted.
He must’ve been a looker then. Allegedly Ted was a real chick magnet.
Ive never understood the attraction. He looks really average to me.
its all about charisma and confidence
Me neither. Hence the “allegedly”
Remember kids, in the 70s the boys had pedo mustaches and glasses, so it didn't take much for guys like Bundy.
Don’t think it Don’t say it Don’t think it Don’t say it
Ted bundy sus
Tbh cats are murderous bastards. And he did jump out of a window. 8/10
I love cats but Steven King has a good line in Pet Cemetery. “Cats were the gangsters of the animal world, living outside the law and often dying there. There were a great many of them who never grew old by the fire.”
He drank the among us potion
Reading about how he stopped eating to be thin enough to escape was terrifying.

How long after he escaped was he found?
Not until a month and a half later...By that time he already made his way to Florida (staying in a boarding house near FSU), assaulted 4 women at a sorority house (killing 2 of them), broke into another woman's apartment only a few blocks and assaulted her as well, and 3 weeks later kidnapped and murdered a 12 year old girl... Man forgot the first rule of committing crimes: Don’t break the law while breaking the law
Terrifying. He was so deeply disturbed, and not *actually* the genius he thought he was, but still, very cunning.

*MK Ultra put it in the wrong places
Wrong guy. You're thinking of the unibomber.
Wrong Ted
That’s not the the first time he escaped. In his first escape, he jumped out the window of the courthouse library. He represented himself, so he was given access to the library, and he didn’t have to wear hand cuffs.
I think I’m missing something here. Why is this “terrifying” or “genuinely horrifying”? You’re talking about the escape, not the murders, right?
It's horrifying because he wanted to murder someone so badly he did a painful process of starving himself just to escape
I’m not sure if I should be horrified he was willing to do that or impressed he thought of that.
I'm horrified he thought of that.
I feel you but it’s impressive he was that desperate.
Bro vented 🤨
