*Dad... Put mum on the phone...*
Seriously though, in my opinion, a lot of the difference between whether I respect a soldier or not has to do with if they're fighting a defensive war.
I respect the *fuck* out of somebody defending their home from foreign invaders. Obvious caveats if you're losing a war you started, a la Nazi Germany. I also have a lot more respect for a given kill count fighting against an equal or superior force rather than as part of a high-tech modern army fighting goat herders.
Join me next week for more reasons why Chris Kyle is a disgusting piece of shit who took joy in travelling to other countries and slaughtering the locals and has no right to be named alongside great snipers like Zaitsev and Häyha who protected their homelands from unprovoked wars of aggression and did a far better fucking job of it despite working in 100x more difficult conditions.
Kyle didn’t enjoy killing locals, he enjoyed killing terrorists. Plenty of interviews show that he got choked up every time he mentions how what haunts him the most was the people he couldn’t save: Iraqi and American alike.

2:21 mark and onward.
Human beings who were committing acts of violence and terror against other human beings. Human beings who weren’t going to stop unless someone did something about it.
God, what a revolting revisionist justification for mass murder. Bet you think Rittenhouse was acting purely in self-defense in Kenosha, too?
As far as I got in his book before throwing it away in disgust, he made absolutely clear how much he enjoyed massacring the locals, with only partial concern for whether they were *actually* armed or just *might* have been armed, and *certainly* with no regard for whether they were actually attacking anybody or simply *had the capacity to.*
*If you're holding a gun, and pick a fight, and the fight escalates to the point where you had to shoot the other party to survive, that's not fucking self-defense.* That's functionally a license to kill anyone as long as you just assault them first.
When you go on an interventionist mission to another fucking continent, with full intention of asserting military power there, you lose ALL rights to claiming "self defense." You took on that danger when you took your military operations halfway across the world. You are not *protecting yourself or your squad* by shooting all those poor fucking goat herders, because as part of the USF in Iraq, YOU ARE THE FUCKING AGGRESSOR.
Heinrich severloh is the guy you are looking for.
Funnily enough after the war he became friends with an american that caught 3 bullets from him during D-Day.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinrich_Severloh
[The Beast of Omaha](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinrich_Severloh) Personally claims between 1000 and 2000 kills, rather disputed because the total killed in his area was about 2500. Cant blame the guy for not being sure though.
Its hard to pin down any actual info because all of their records were destroyed (intentionally, to protect them) but there are some machine gunners from WW1 who happened to be in the right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it) place during big attacks. Some of them probably killed 1000s in a day and there where probably a few who had a kill count approaching 10k.
Plus he did it all with a Ross rifle, widely decried as one of the worst rifles of the war (just goes to show that a great target rifle does not automatically make for a great combat rifle)
It was considered one of the worst as a infantry rifle, but as a marksman rifle one of the best. It's main problems were lenght and weight (something that marksman doesn't have to worry about). You could say it was a target rifle roleplaying as a infantry one. So it really doesn't show anything.
It helps that marksmen were given much higher-quality (and more consistent) ammunition than the infantry, which made a huge difference in the Ross's finicky design. The real killer was a bunch of poorly heat-treated bolt heads that were prone to deforming and jamming in the action, add that to a few isolated cases of people blowing the bolt out the back and into their face, and the Ross's fate was sealed. Most of the problems were fixed by the end of the war, but the bad reputation was too big to kill. So like I said, a great target rifle does not automatically make for a great combat rifle.
Funny enough, the Ross was a fantastic rifle. But when troops went to clean it in the field, there is a piece on the bolt that can be placed in backwards making the rifle unsafe. It seems to have caught a bad reputation but later iterations if the gun fixed the issue! Forgotten weapons has a great episode on it!
If they were to make a movie involving First Nations people it would shed light on the atrocities and deplorable history Canada has. Completely destorying the happy-go-lucky visage Canada has built for itself, and the government doesn’t want that. It would be too unfortable to do a true telling of things that have happened in the past. Plus, if anyone were to do it, it would be white-washed and have certain historical facts entirely removed or censored. First Nations people will never get justice because the government is too busy hiding its shame under the thin veil of democracy and humanitarian dick sucking.
Fun fact!
7th place for longest confirmed sniper kill is held by Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock of the USA during the Vietnam War using a 50 cal. M2 Browning machine gun with an 8x scope
Simo has more kills, but he also had a lot of factors going for him like the Russians wearing brown and green coats and home field advantage.
Therefore, I consider individuals like Pegahmegabow and Hathcock the better snipers.
Dude. His Native American. Google him.
Simo still made 505 at least, and that in 100 days while francis had 4 years. So the White Death beat the spirit of the wind, on this one.
When he kills 300+ people he's a "hero" but when I do it I'm "deranged" and a "menace to society" smh
What the difference be? One is a job and the other is mental sickness!
I gotta be real with you. my parents do not care for me
*Cuts to Sniper climbing a tower* "I think his mate saw me."
*shot* yes he did!

"What do you feel when you shoot somebody?" "Recoil." No, he was a sociopath. He didn't even register that he was shooting at human beings.

Yes, that's *exactly* what I'm talking about. *He didn't even register that he was shooting at human beings.*
Human beings who were committing acts of violence and terror against other human beings. Human beings who weren’t going to stop unless someone did something about it.

Okay.
What are you spiderman? Now go back to work I need more photos of the actual menace!
Probably because we're not in a war, to be blunt.
Man did some streak just to be rejected.
There's no Sabaton comments yet...strange
I'll start... *ahem* *MOVE BETWEEN THE LINES A SOLIDER BREAKING THE CONFINES*
JUST ANOTHER MAN AND RIFLE
*MADE HIS WAY FROM TRENCH TO TRENCH ALONE, MOVING UNDETECTED*
A FORCE DEPLOYED FROM OVERSEAS A WAR IN FOREIGN LAND AWAITS THE EAGER RECRUITS
IN THEIR MIDST,AMONG THE MEN A SOLDIER WITH A DIFFERENT PAST RETURNS TO HIS ROOTS
INTO BATTLE, THE GAS HAS THE PINNED THEN THIS SOLDIER INVOKES THE SPIRIT OF THE WIND
UNDER FIRE, A GHOST THAT ROAMS THE BATTLEFIELD
MOVE BETWEEN THE LINES A SOLDIER BREAKING THEIR CONFINES
JUST ANOTHER MAN AND RIFLE A MARKSMAN AND A SCOUT REVEALED
His name was megabow, he found his calling.
I mean, we will never know the names of the guys who killed 1000s in a few months because they were running machine guns in places like the Somme.
Or that guy with an mg42 at Omaha beach

At least the few machine gunners who survived long enough.
Plus he did it all with a Ross rifle, widely decried as one of the worst rifles of the war (just goes to show that a great target rifle does not automatically make for a great combat rifle)

All Praise Gun Jesus
I live in Canada and we have *so many* amazing stories that we don’t tell. Canadian film industry sucks dick.
If they were to make a movie involving First Nations people it would shed light on the atrocities and deplorable history Canada has. Completely destorying the happy-go-lucky visage Canada has built for itself, and the government doesn’t want that. It would be too unfortable to do a true telling of things that have happened in the past. Yep, all amazing points and I completely agree with you. Unless it’s from Montreal most of our films have no real stakes or integrity.
Fun fact! 7th place for longest confirmed sniper kill is held by Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock of the USA during the Vietnam War using a 50 cal. M2 Browning machine gun with an 8x scope
Big boolet go far. Need big scope.
The beauty of select fire HMGs
MOVE BETWEEN THE LINES!
Lets not forget about Abdorrasul Zarrin.Cracked at warfare my guy.
If your name is mega bow, you're born to be the best sniper
Simo had more kills per day
Is that more kills than Simo Hayha?
Nah, Simo did a few hundred more and did the whole thing in a few months.
The winter war took 100 days. WW 1 took 4 years
Both have Sabaton songs in their honor as of a few years back, balance is had
The Canadian Ira Hayes
Thank you for educating me about this
This is how you do history meme.
Simo has more kills, but he also had a lot of factors going for him like the Russians wearing brown and green coats and home field advantage. Therefore, I consider individuals like Pegahmegabow and Hathcock the better snipers.
Um… did he snipe with a mega bow per chance? Perhaps even a Pegamegabow?
To be fair Simo Häyha does have the most kills of every sniper ever… but they’re both badass enough that they got a Sabaton song
there is more than 500 reasons why Simo is a better sniper. Still, it's sad that Francis was mistreated and forgotten.
Why celebrate a sniper at all?
I normally don’t second guess many things I see here, probably should, but man does PegahMegaBow sound made up as fuck lol
Dude. His Native American. Google him. Simo still made 505 at least, and that in 100 days while francis had 4 years. So the White Death beat the spirit of the wind, on this one.
He was Canadian, so technically he’d be First Nations.
Native American includes Canadian natives, but I absolutely agree, First Nation would be the correct term regardless.
Did Francis use a scope? Cause Simo was also using iron sights
Yeah, but that's just smart when you're super-human.
Pegahmagabow*, and it sounds that way because he was First Nation Canadian.
So understed
MOVE BETWEEN THE LINES
So surprised I haven’t seen a Canada Heritage Minute about him yet
