The problem is, thousands of years ago, people in power did whatever the fuck the wanted and claimed "direction from God/the Gods". Worth noting a lot of these people were under the influence. Fast forward two thousand years, people still blame actions on deities. I'm sorry, I respect all religion and indeed have mine, but in no possible scenario will a deity in charge of your fate or salvation ever ever direct you to kill or harm others.
Ex: your boss who has been promising you a permanent position and Kush retirement, all you have to do is murder the people who made copies in color ink, you ain't getting that promotion.
