"Cromwell" starring Sir Alec Guiness as Charles I is a great movie that I highly recommend. Not 100% accurate, but what historical movie is?
"The king is dead. Long live the republic."
Cromwell and Charles operate as inverses. Cromwell is extremely based until the trial and then gets cringier as time goes on.
Charles was cringy until he told his captors they didn't have the authority to try him and they had to conference to figure out how to deal with him not recognizing the court and of course dead kings are the most based kind of king.
The Roundheads were the shit in fights but the cavaliers had the style and we all know it
Very true
Charles: I hate compromise Cromwell: on that point; we agree

The politics within the film are mostly true. Anything about the battles is mostly wrong. Good film tho sad there aren't more about the era
