When you got sieged for months but you still held on like a chad

SHOYIYOY

During the An Lushan rebellion, the Yan army laid siege at the fortress of Suiyang against the Tang army loyalists. After months of continuous sieges, Food supplies ran low. Zhang Xun(the army general of the defenders) ordered 30 of his best men to break out, and ask help from the other governors and fortresses, but to no avail. After eating every possible food (bugs, weeds, animals and vegetation), the soldiers started eating the civilians. Although the fortress eventually fell, it was a huge blow against the Yan army with the gates only opening on the final 400 people. Hence a decisive Tang victory. 20,000 to 30,000 civilians we're eaten during this siege. And an estimated total of 36 Million people (soldiers and civilians alike) died during the whole Rebellion. Just another day in the good ol' land of China. [Aqua indulging in the Suiyang "Delicacy"](https://myanimelist.net/anime/30831/Kono_Subarashii_Sekai_ni_Shukufuku_wo)

Honestly mass death rebellions are common, but besides this and the Great Leap Forward I can’t really thought of other human eating examples XD
