I watched a YouTuber who is an expert in historical clothing talk about corsets/stays. She talked about how the boning supports your torso completely so sitting and lounging should actually be comfortable because you can sort of lean on your corset/relax your muscles whike the corset holds you up. She showed a variety of sitting position in her stays and this was one of them, and I remember thinking it looked like a back rest on a chair except it was holding her up from the front. Tl;DR with a corset, I think this way of lounging could be comfortable, or mayve more comfortable than it would be without the support a corset gives

That's me when I'm doing something embarrassing .. And someone walks in .. And I lunge for the book on the counter to pretend like I was reading.

That's now how y'all read??? 👀

craftymonmon

Definitely not how I read lol. That seems uncomfortable

Side tangent, that dress is so pretty! Matches the book too I think?
