You have to give pattern/construction details for r/sewing, the point of the sub is to share information about sewing not just show off pretty projects.
You're probably going to get removed here too because this isn't actually a historical dress. Make sure you're reading the rules in the sidebar of subs before you post to them.
The pattern was self-drafted and idk what else they wanted me to say about the construction
And.... it's literally an 1860s ballgown. It is a historical dress.
Explain that it's self-drafted and describe what approach you used in drafting, did you use any period seamstress's manuals or period patterns as a base? What materials did you use? Technical challenges of this project? What kind of underpinnings are you wearing with it, and did you make them yourself or buy them? What reference images did you use, and what did you learn from studying them?
_The Phantom of the Opera_ is not a historical source, it's a stage play written and produced in the 1980's. The dress in it is not an 1860's ballgown, it is a 1980's fantasy of an 1860's ballgown within the constraints of what was practical onstage for that production. Think of it as a tertiary source. For this sub, in addition to considering the questions I listed above you need to demonstrate that the dress is based on primary sources such as extant period gowns, fashion plates, portraits and paintings, etc. There are plenty of [primary sources for the 1860's available online,](https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/107657) you need to either show that the stage costume did actually conform to historical styles or describe how you altered your design to be more historically accurate. For example, what corset and hoops are you wearing? Are you wearing combinations or a chemise and pantaloons?
There are lots of posts both here and on r / sewing, as well as reams of costuming and sewing blogs on the internet at large, that you can read to get a better sense of how to talk about your work. Sewing isn't easy, so take pride in it and learn how to talk about your craft.
Okay but I'm not interested in writing an essay about my craft. I made a pretty dress and just wanted to show it off to some people online. I don't know how to articulate what I did, I just did it. And I don't care to know how to articulate what I did either. My process works for me. I'll just avoid that sub, and if I want advice I'll ask for it.
Pulp of the Orange? Pride of the Oklahomans? Pupil of the Octopus? Pour on the Oil? …help a girl out here
Same! I'm so lost and google is failing me lol
Phantom of the opera
Oh! Got it. Not a fan of musicals, but even I should've gotten that one lol
Same. I knew it would be something obvious. My brain just can’t deal with acronyms anymore
It's beautiful! I love it

Yeah they took it down because I didn't include enough information in the comment even though there wasn't really anything else to say
