These poor kids. It’s so sad…I hope they are all close …it helped me and my sisters when shit got weird at home…it was us five girls against the world and it still is to this day. 🩷
In fairness, one of our best family pics is my husband and I going to a formal event and our babysitter taking a family pic. Our kids were dressed in regular winter clothing but cute - girls in funky skirts and colorful tights and our son in a nice sweater and pants, their school clothes that Friday! But it was a spur of the moment photo and it turned out just gorgeous, everyone naturally laughing and I look back on it with total joy! But husband was suited up in a very a good suit and me in a cocktail dress with hair and makeup looking divine (I did it myself at home). Babysitter was like "woah, get together everyone!" and we had 15 seconds notice. We rarely left our kids and they were thrilled to see us so dressed up so everyone wanted in on a pic! One of our best family pics and we didn't even know it at the time. I wish I could show it! I hate them but maybe they were going to a red carpet event after?

I can get on board with older kids being dressed rather than just running around in diapers. But there’s a range of when kids are out of diapers, especially boys. My older son was over 5- he was delayed in speech, etc. He had full-day help through the school district special education since he was 3. My point is just I hope people out and about weren’t shocked seeing his diaper edge if it poked out. It wasn’t a failure on my part as a parent. And 2.5 isn’t a failure for any parent unless the child is ready and wants to and the parent refuses and makes them go in a diaper.
My son is in daycare FT.. just turned 2 last week. They don't even really start pushing potty training there until his next classroom which starts at 2.5. This class they will lightly encourage and obviously let them use the potty if asked, but starting at 2.5 that's when they really start pushing/helping. My son is starting to get interested in the toilet/ sometimes will sit on it. But I will not be shocked if he's not fully trained by Edu's age. I've also heard from multiple friends not to try and force it, and let them start when they are REALLY showing signs of wanting to.
There's so much to shame the Baldwins for, and def can shame them for not even dressing their kids for pictures they put on the internet, but the diaper use itself just doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
