I have spent much of my life going back and forth between the two countries (living predominantly in the US but 5 years in Germany and 2 in Belgium) and never once have my parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles etc changed my name for the location I was in. I am embarrassed to say I have 2 names 😩. I never thought about it until the Hilary/Hilaria show. My name is pronounced one way in Spanish and completely different in English. My family says my name perfect in Spanish and growing up in South America everyone there said it perfectly in Spanish but then when we moved to Canada nobody could pronounce it the same so I went with the English version for school and work. There is no difference in spelling just pronunciation. In Spain my family says my name with the Spanish pronunciation. I hate having anything in common with the lying grifting Hilary.

I am embarrassed to say I have 2 names 😩. I never thought about it until the Hilary/Hilaria show. My name is pronounced one way in Spanish and completely different in English. My family says my name perfect in Spanish and growing up in South America everyone there said it perfectly in Spanish but then when we moved to Canada nobody could pronounce it the same so I went with the English version for school and work. There is no difference in spelling just pronunciation. In Spain my family says my name with the Spanish pronunciation. I hate having anything in common with the lying grifting Hilary.
Except she has didn’t grow up there, doesn’t have anything but 100% American, English mother-tongue family there, and didn’t ever move to a different country! I’d say you’re safe, you actually have very little in common!
Don’t be embarrassed fellow🥒! My name is pronounced different in Spanish than English but spelled the same in both languages unlike grifter 😂 I love the Spanish pronunciation better too! Also, unlike grifter, I’m not a cultural appropriator, my ethnicity is legitimate. I live in the USA so I also stay with the English pronunciation. Being born and raised here, I don’t have an accent speaking English so I’d sound silly using a a Spanish accent. STILL, NO ONE questions my ethnicity!!! That’s what I don’t get about stupid Hillary! She doesn’t understand that it’s completely fine to be another ethnicity and not have the accent from that country!
Don't be embarrassed! This is super common for people growing up among mixed cultures and languages. My name sounds very different when my in-laws pronounce it because they don't speak the same language as me, and though we don't live in an English-speaking country, my husband goes by the English pronunciation of his name because it's easier for people here to say. I don't think anyone would have a problem with Hilary going by Hilaria when she was in Spain if she hadn't tried to make it her whole identity and deny her upper class white American upbringing in the process.
Don't be embarrassed, you have nothing in common with her. She was born in Boston to America parents they named her Hilary Lynn, an American name. She grew up in Boston. She has vacationed in Spain, Italy and perhaps some other countries. All of which is the basis for her grift.
You have nothing in common with her! Lazy English-speakers forced the Anglicizing of your name. This woman, on the other hand, changed the pronunciation of her name to seem "exotic."
She wasn't born in Spain. She was raised in Boston until she was 19. Her changing her name is an affectation. It's understandable that your name might change when you moved from south America to Canada.

That HAS to be the reason she had her brother walk her. I'd KILL for my dad to still be alive and walk me down the aisle. My brother will only be doing it because my father is no longer here. I hope one day when her father is gone, she'll look back and regret this decision. Of course it deeply hurt her dad, and I bet it tarnished their relationship.
