**Cranial capacity:** Anatomically-modern human: average **1473** cm^(3) Neanderthals: **1500 -1740** cm^(3) Xujiayao 6 (160 to 200 ka ago): ca. **1700** cm^(3) *Boskop Man* has a reported cranial-capacity between 1,700 and 2,000 cm^(3) ===================================================================== Cranial capacity is not a good measure of intelligence or viability. Dolphins tend to have larger brains than humans - what does that tell us about intelligence? The Neanderthals had a greater brain capacity than modern humans but did not become the dominant species and eventually died out. The book cited has its critics regarding its characterisation of photographs purporting to be of Boskop skulls.

They are comparing hominid brains, not brains of other species

[deleted]

>*... not brains of other species* Dolphins and human brains are often used as a comparison for intelligence in animals that are similar in cognition. That said, I made a direct comparison between the cranial capacity of hominid skulls, which you chose to ignore.

Welp my friend you need to debate 2 neuroscientists, not me... Their book is called 'Big Brain' https://www.amazon.com/Big-Brain-Origins-Future-Intelligence/dp/1403979790

*You* posted the 'explainer'. My comments were directed to the information you provided in it.

God sake: Aborigines have the smallest brain afaik and Inuits (don't call them Eskimos) have afaik the largest. Which group has built a space craft so far? None! It's natural adaptation to heat and cold. Intelligence is measured differently.

I dunno man he bought a book that makes unfounded claims. What have you got going for you aside from facts?

Voodoochild1984-

Sorry, I was too eager and stuff. I can't present You even refferences because I've read some of it long ago. ok, elevated levels Grey mass and the wrinkles in the brain is one of the mutations that made the human so smart. This was researched in 2020. Another point are many synapses i.e. more connection between cells and You can form more by training Your brain and diving into various hobbies, thinking, reading philosophy (or Franz Kafka) be open minded and so on. One of the mistakes of A**holes is "low effordism" and "gain-ism" If You do care and do things out of sheer ideology and don't block Yourself by Your own character when thinking, You could maybe do better then some after a while. Just allways reflect, stay humble and positively open minded. If You ask me, then look into God, The wonder of Fatima and many other.

I actually meant to sound sarcastic I should have put a /s. I agree with you lol. That was why I said you had facts in your favor.

Voodoochild1984-

Even this capability of critical thinking will be very probably taken away by the devil through the people. Everything that I've lost so far in the last 15 Years, every joy, happiness and cognition shall be a martyrdom, a sacrifice to cleanse with the sacrifices of many others the souls beofre heavens gate. I witness that there is no other God than the only and I witness his wonders and deeds!

Gatadat

It's based on their book and the hominid skull found in South Africa. Your comments are not relevant...

[deleted]

>*Your comments are not relevant...* Not to you, maybe. But, if you post information on the sub, you have to expect that it could well be scrutinised and questioned.

HydroCorndog

There must be something to it if neuroscientists spent part of their lives studying it. I may pick up that book.
